Hello All! First things first, Slick's Que Co is not open again, well yet...

But for those of you who liked the sauces and rubs, they are available now in Bend at The Nest Creative Home store at 155 SW Century Drive, Suite 112 Bend. (541)-527-2565 - that's on the West Side in that shopping center with Chicken Bonz and The Cuban Kitchen.

The owner Susan Clarke loves the stuff and wanted to help get the word out! Bless her heart! Really cool store by the way!

Slick's will be closing for the season Dec 30th.
If you like the great barbecue, the sides and the fun at Slick's, now's the time to get up to Sisters - in the next two weeks.
We are open Thursday - Sunday until December 30th.

We do want to thank everyone for the support this year, even with the fires in Sisters that pretty much shut things down all over town.

Come up and join us in the next two weeks. We'd love to see you!

I gotta say that Sisters is a really great place to come watch the eclipse! The fire is to our south, the mornings and mid days have been great! And there's NO traffic. For those people that hate the traffic of other central Oregon eclipse viewing points and vacation destinations, Sisters is a pretty cool and traffic-less place right now. If you want to see how clear and what little traffic it here is check out Oregon's Tripcheck website that has a camera right in Sisters. I guess a lot people are staying away because the fire but check out the camera for yourself any time of day and make plans based on what you see yourself and not rumors or inaccurate media reports. Hwy 20 and 126 here are VERY light traffic and getting around is very easy now. The fire is burning toward the south and smoke going towards Bend and Redmond. The photo was taken a minute ago looking down Hood Ave to the West.

Saturday Special - back by popular demand: Giant Sweet Potato with Hard Sauce. Yum!!!

Sunday Special: The Big Hit - Chicken and Waffles! A Belgian waffle topped with fried chicken on the bone and served with sweet potato mash with candied pralines. A southern treat.

It's Spring and we've got screwy hours!
This next week we will be open Thursday - Sunday. We are switching to a Thursday - Sunday 11:00 - 8:00 format and Monday for lunch 11:00 - 3:00 to better fit the April and early May traffic and business patterns here in Sisters. See ya soon!

Wow! - Thanks to everyone for a great reopening! Its been a nonstop run since March 17th! Great start to a new season!

We've got some great specials on Friday, Saturday and Sunday every week:

Friday: Our tender and juicy apple wood smoked half chicken special - a big half chicken with two sides and bread. Only on Fridays and only as the special meal.

Saturday: Our new Burnt End Dippers. A more Texas preparation - cubes of 16 hour slow smoked choice angus brisket tossed in a light spicy sauce and put back in the oven for an extremely tasty treat. Served as an appetizer with ranch dressing, celery and slaw. You gotta try em! Amazing.

Sunday: Chicken and Waffles! Yep, that southern treat - pieces of fried chicken served on top of a waffle cone like waffle, with praline sweet potato mash and butter and honey. Southern happiness!
