After days of deliberation, the Pizza Cheeks Arts Council has made its decision.

First of all, THANK YOU to every artist who submitted, every person who voted, and everyone who shared it, commented on it, or just showed up for it. Over 150 original art submissions! Sioux Falls, you made this something we'll never forget.

With over 3400 votes and five exceptional finalists, this was not an easy call. Our council debated long and hard before landing here...

The winning piece going up on the wall at Pizza Cheeks is by Brit Carmany.

Brit's piece was selected for its design, its warmth, and its ability to stop you in your tracks. She drew inspiration from our space-themed arcade, creating a connection between the outside of the building and what's waiting inside. The central figure is an astronaut with rosy pepperoni cheeks, surrounded by celestial imagery and checker patterns. The piece invites viewers of all ages to pause, explore and engage, and our council felt it captured the spirit of Pizza Cheeks in a way that was hard to argue with. It's playful, it's curious, and it's going to turn heads on one of Sioux Falls' busiest corridors every single day.

In Brit's own words: "She's just waiting for her friends to join her, but she doesn't mind grabbing a slice solo."

We think this city is going to love her. We're leaving the naming honors to Brit herself. Stay tuned.

Over 3,400 votes WOW.

First, to everyone who didn't advance: sincerest thank you. The talent across all 22 submissions genuinely blew us away, and the comments over the last two weeks about the quality of the work have meant a lot. We mean that.

The people have spoken. These five pieces are moving on to the finals. Our arts council gets to work now and will pick the one going up on the wall at Pizza Cheeks, professionally printed and installed.

Without further ado, your top five vote-getters, in no particular order:

Tyson Schultz: A person absolutely going to town on a slice of pizza. Loud, graphic, looks like a concert poster. It would stop traffic.

Em Nguyen: A love letter to Sioux Falls. Colorful, dense, alive. The kind of piece that's different every time you look at it.

Alyscia Rosheim: Bold and a little wild. Pink, psychedelic, packed with iconic Sioux Falls references.

Arianna Enriquez: Warm, welcoming, and built around people sharing a pizza. Botanical, sunny, the kind of art that makes you feel good just looking at it.

Brit Carmany: A portrait surrounded by stars and cosmic doodles. Delicate and striking at the same time. Hard to look away.

Our arts council is deliberating. Winner announced soon.

Oh, and first and second place were separated by 8 votes. Sioux Falls apparently has a thing for tight races.

MURAL VOTE MIDWAY UPDATE
We are absolutely blown away. Over 3,000 votes cast in less than 5 days!
Sioux Falls, you really showed up for this one.

Here's where things stand: voting is still open, and the top 5 vote-getters will advance to the finals. From there, our arts council will make the final call on whose work goes up on the wall.

We're covering the full cost of printing and installation (likely a few thousand dollars), and the winning artist walks away with $500 cash + $500 Pizza Cheeks gift card.

To every artist who submitted: the talent in this community genuinely caught us off guard. We're proud to have been the reason you made something.
To everyone who's chirped about how we're running this, we hear you.
We're an independent pizza place, not the MoMA. But the overwhelming support from this community has drowned out the few, and we're going to finish strong.
