The story behind the name,

We were inspired to start this shop during a trip to Charleston. On our trip, we visited a different coffee and/or bake shop almost every day, and the city still had more to offer. We came back to the Upstate and did not find the same, especially in the Simpsonville area. So, from this experience of enjoying great coffee, baked goods, and great conversations, we felt th

e need to start the Exchange Co. We receive a lot of questions about the name: what does it mean, how did you decide on it, etc? When we decided to open this shop we wanted to have a business with a purpose. Sure, serving incredible coffee and gluten-free treats is what we do best, but we want to use this platform to give back to the community that we serve. So, we decided that we would become an advocate for children who need families in our community. In addition to raising awareness of the great need for adoption and foster care, a portion of our proceeds every month goes to support local and international agencies that help to promote this cause. The name Exchange Company comes for the idea that the greatest act of love is to lay down (Exchange) one’s life for another. Most individuals would be willing to lay down their physical life for someone they love. We want to inspire individuals to Exchange the purpose and plan for their life, the comfort and routine of their families, in order to give a child a family that he so desperately longs for. So, when you see the name Exchange Co., consider changing your purpose in life so that a child can have purpose in his. We have three main goals:

1) To serve delicious, individually, handcrafted coffee and tea in an inviting atmosphere

2) To promote awareness of the need for adoption and foster care in the Upstate

3) To promote and provide healthier food alternatives for those seeking to remove refined foods from their diet without compromising on taste
