Excited to share a yummy new menu item🤍 it is fresh, it is yummy, and it has a little piece of Pop in the sourdough croutons. We have the sweetest crew who curated this healthy addition- I am so proud of them. We will have this yummy SALAD available TOMORROW, while supplies last🤍 we sure hope to see you!

Really quickly, some house keeping items- we will be closed 12/26-27th and reopening normal hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday🤍 our precious crew worked like crazy last week to produce more or Pops Goodies than ever before. Grateful today for sure for the people the Lord has brought to Weathered Oak. Both current and past, each member of the crew that we have had has felt completely from Him. This picture only has a few of these blessings but was snapped by a sweet friend who was visiting our Wendy at her last shift- and I feel like captures the posture of our girls (and our Victor, Bill and Tim). They are humble and kind and love the Lord and seek Him. I feel humbled to continue to see how the Lord works in them at the shop and how much of a gift they’ve given me by allowing me to try and be the mommy He wants me to be to my babies🤍 thank you God for each person you have brought to us who has served You and this community so well. And thank you most of all for Jesus who sacrificed His life that we could be forgiven and saved.

Saturday 11/18 is the last day for 2 very important things- the first (and most important) is that it is the last day for this precious girl. Shelby has been with us since the beginning and we will miss her so very much. She is beautiful and kind, she is a calming presence, she is impressively creative and has been such gift to us! thank you for your loyalty, dedication and time at Weathered Oak🤍Please stop in to hug and encourage her🤍

Here’s a little update and request for your alls help on this sweet place next door to our shop! We had paused things for quite some time with some other projects and things popping up and not knowing if it was wise for us- but several months or so ago, while at church during worship { and not at all thinking about the house because we were at that point looking to maybe sell it } I felt like the word Haven popped in my head. I also felt like the word non- profit did as well. It was one of those times that really felt like it was the Lord speaking to me, but of course I can’t say that for sure.

Haven: a place of refuge or safety

And so we began to pray through it- nothing really changed except the need maybe to sell it more- we even added another project in the midst of it 🤦‍♀️🙈😂 (Trav is amazing you all!) but things lined up for us to keep it (thank you Lord!) and even though there are no answers or leadings other than- it is now the Haven House to me.

Now we are starting to get things cranked up- and would love for that home to be filled with prayers and scripture from our community on the walls, floors and doorframes:) would you all help us? The prayers and scriptures you post here and send will be written throughout the home-we believe it would be a gift to all who stay there🤍

Hey Weathered Oak Family🤍October is our birthday month for the shop and since we are getting close to our 2nd year anniversary- it seemed fitting to share part of our story and journey in getting here🤍

My name is Shalane and this is my Trav🤍
I’ve shared pieces of my story before, but I wouldn’t have had the guts (or knowledge, muscle or inspiration) without Trav to start or maintain Weathered Oak, so I’d love to share some of him with you:) We’ve known each other since 8th grade and were close but didn’t date until college. He was starting his first flip in So. IN and has been at it ever since! Fast forward to 6 1/2 years ago when we moved to Simpsonville- he immediately fell in love with this old hardware store in downtown Simpsonville that hadn’t been occupied for years but he saw the beauty and potential (he sees this in people too by the way which is one of my favorite things) and hoped to connect with the owners. It had such a sweet history and story with the family who owned it and it was hard for them to let go- but years later, just days after a little getaway we had to dream about our family and businesses, (where he had asked me about my dreams for Weathered Oak) we got a call that they were ready to start the conversation about selling 🙂 So there we were- pregnant with our 6th baby, buying a building to restore, and build a business that had only operated out of our home and the local farmers market at that point. Can you all see Gods hand in this?! He is so good to us. And in the midst of our 13 years married and over 15 together- the Lord has allowed Trav to have leadership experience at a mortgage lending company, start a construction company that then also birthed the sweetest real estate group, a division that has acquired rentals and short term rentals, all the while has either owned, flipped, or done renovations in all areas of Louisville, Shelby and Oldham counties and southern Indiana. He’s a wealth of knowledge to say the least. I’m so proud of how he has humbly stepped through these roles and seeks to continue to grow and learn how to bring out and restore value in what the Lord puts in front of him🤍And does so with our family first and a heart for Jesus🤍

We never dreamed this is what Weathered Oak would look like, and couldn’t be more proud and humbled by the godly, kind and sincere crew He’s given us!

And seriously y’all- if you need any help in any facet of the housing realm whether personal homes or investment- he’d be honored to help, and I’m not sure there is anyone I’ve met better equipped🤍
