Hey everyone
2025’s been one heck of a ride. I’m currently at AnMed in Anderson after experiencing my second heart attack within a year — at just 35. Between countless doctor visits and hospital stays, I’ve been battling Ulcerative Colitis, which has led to complications with my heart. Technically, yeah… two heart attacks this year at 35 😅 I just want to be transparent and let everyone know what’s going on right now. It’s hard to talk about these things but maybe some transparency and vulnerability is good. We are all in this together.
Not saying that for sympathy — I hate complaining — just being real. Even with all that, we still found wins this year.
I’ve taken fewer events and been super selective so I can manage my health and stress. But I’ve still been doing what I love: feeding people and creating amazing food.
The biggest win? I said earlier this year I was stepping back to help my wife finish school. She is graduating with honors with her Masters Degree soon. When she wins, we all win.
And for the first time in almost a year, there’s real light at the end of the tunnel. My health’s improving, my mindset’s strong, and I’m ready to come back swinging in 2026
Huge thanks to my team, mentors, and everyone who’s kept Rad Dad’s BBQ alive and thriving while I heal. You’re the real MVPs.
2026 = growth. Bigger events. Bigger goals. Maybe even a restaurant or two 👀🔥
We’re just getting started.
