This week is officially the last week for my bakery — at least for now. 🤍
It takes a lot for me to put something I built with all my heart on hold, but sometimes life asks you to choose a different path for a while.
I’m putting Mamacita’s Sweets & Bakery on pause as I begin a new chapter — going after my Associate Degree in Nursing. And when I say going after it, I mean HUNTING for it 😂 because I waited too long, and time flew by faster than I ever realized.
I started this bakery in 2019 with so much love, passion, and the dream of one day opening my own storefront bakery. That dream is still on my bucket list — I’m just giving priority to nursing school right now.
And no… this decision has not been easy.
It’s not easy to put something on hold after building a beautiful community of over 5,000 followers on TikTok, a monetized page, and more than 2,800 Facebook followers who have supported, shared, ordered, and believed in my work through the years. For that, I will always be grateful. 🤍
From 2019 to 2026…
7 years. ❤️
Seven years of baking with little sleep, working nights, and sometimes running on pure caffeine and determination.
So many nights of sleeping only a few hours just to wake up and go to work again. So many long nights in the kitchen — sometimes baking for 16 hours straight.
I missed so much time with my husband, even though he was always there helping me and being my second hand. During Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Mother’s Day, we were a whole team trying to keep up with orders.
My son became a pro at dipping berries 🍓😂 and helped pack cookies, treats, brownies, cupcakes, and so much more. We really gave it our all.
One of the things I enjoyed the most was seeing my grandkids become part of the team too. 🤍 They learned how to decorate cookies and helped in their own little ways, and those are memories I will cherish forever.
But life changes.
My husband’s health wasn’t the best , (getting better now) and my son started working full-time, and balancing everything became overwhelming while also working full-time myself.
As much as I love baking, I realized I need to slow down and focus on my future.
This is not goodbye forever — just a pause.
Thank you to my family, friends, customers, and everyone who supported me, ordered from me, shared my posts, and believed in my dream over these last 7 years.
I appreciate every single one of you more than you know. 🤍
Here’s to a new chapter.
Love,
Karla 🤍
