I was delighted to open Facebook this morning and see this absolutely lovely article posited about the tearoom on Explore Illinois. What a total surprise and what a genuine honor to have our little tearoom be acknowledged in such a thoughtful way. The article highlights so much of what makes our tearoom special, and shares the heart and soul we've put into every aspect of our special space. Some days can feel a little daunting as a small business owner, and the last few weeks have left me feeling a bit drained.

Today, a guest visiting from New Jersey stopped into the tearoom after finding us online while she was in the area for work. We had a lovely chat, and after she left, I found this little note waiting for me.

And, admittedly, it made me tear up. 🥹

We never really know what someone else is carrying, or how something as simple as a few kind words can completely change the course of their day.

Today reminded me that sunny days aren't always the ones with blue skies. Sometimes they're simply the days when someone unexpectedly makes things feel a little lighter. ☀️

Thank you, Karen from New Jersey, for your kindness and for spending part of your day with us. You added a little sunshine to my week, and I hope somehow this post finds its way back to you. 💛

Join us for Dinner with the Dead, a dark and delicious evening filled with strange deaths, eerie history, peculiar tales, and the dearly departed. Throughout the night, guests will enjoy four courses, each paired with a themed mocktail and its own morbid story.

Some tales are chilling. Some are bizarre. Some are so strange you’ll swear they couldn’t possibly be true.
