We prepare fresh, high-quality soups and salads in a licensed commercial kitchen and serve customers through pop-ups and a neighborhood retail soup store. About the position
TheFarmers Market Lead is the face of Luke's Soups at our local farmers market
locations. This is first and foremost a sales and marketing role — you'll be
the person customers remember, the one who makes them excited to come back next
week. You'll represent our brand with warmth and enthusiasm, share samples,
tell our story, and turn first-time visitors into loyal regulars.
In addition to customer-facing work, you'll handle booth setup and breakdown, pick
and pack orders before markets, transport product safely, and return all
equipment at the end of each shift.
This role requires someone who is
organized, physically capable, reliable, and genuinely loves food and people.
This is an hourly, position starting September through December with training
Primary Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Experience
• Serve as the primary brand ambassador for Luke's Soups at
the market
• Engage warmly with customers — offer samples, describe
products, answer questions, and drive sales
• Distribute promotional cards and build relationships with
repeat customers
• Maintain an inviting, energetic booth presence throughout
the full market shift
Order Picking & Packing
• Read and accurately fulfill packing slips — match
soups/salads to customer orders
• Bag and label orders correctly before transport
• Load coolers for safe transport to market locations
Booth Setup & Breakdown
• Set up and take down the Luke's Soups booth, including
tent assembly
• Secure tent weights (~40 lbs each) and ensure booth is
safe and properly anchored
• Arrange product display, signage, samples, and supplies
for a polished presentation
• Break down booth completely at end of market and return
all equipment to the store
Transport & Logistics
• Use personal, reliable vehicle to transport coolers, tent,
supplies, and product to/from market
• Ensure safe handling and cold-chain integrity of soups
during transport
Desired Skills
• Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license —
required for transport to all market locations
• Outgoing, friendly personality — you genuinely enjoy
talking with people
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (tent weights,
coolers)
• Ability to raise arms fully overhead for tent setup and
breakdown
• Strong attention to detail for accurate order fulfillment

Hours:
Tuesday - 2pm-7:30pm - Shoreview Farmers Market
Wednesday 2pm-7:30pm - New Brighton Farmers Market
Saturday 7:30am-1:30pm - Lake Elmo Farmers Market and an additional year round market when Lake Elmo ends.
Total Hours - 22 hours
Pay: $20 per hour (hourly position)
Location: Various farmers markets
Minimum age: 16 years old
Food safety: ServSafe/food handler training provided
Physical requirements: Standing for extended periods; lifting up to ~50 lbs for tents and coolers
