What’s your favorite song in the new album?
I can’t decide, but I’m leaning towards Like Animals since Yoongi starts it 😌 The live performance was sooo good! 💞

Lunar New Year (Spring Festival) celebrations have come to an end 🌕✨ March 3rd is the Lantern Festival — the 15th day and first full moon of the lunisolar calendar.

In China, families celebrate for two full weeks, and this day gently signals a return to daily life. Lanterns and candles are lit to drive out darkness and welcome light — symbolizing hope, renewal, and unity for the year ahead. Sweet tang yuan (glutinous rice balls) are traditionally eaten, their name and round shape representing reunion and togetherness.

I felt so grateful to share a piece of my culture with you at our pop-up on Saturday. A mix of traditional and modern Chinese pastries came to life, creating sweet new memories to welcome the new year.

Thank you to for hosting us in your beautiful space, and to my family and friends for their constant love and support.

Though not traditionally eaten during this time, I also wanted to share the sweetheart pastries (wife cakes) with you. They’re less common and can be difficult to find handmade. I learned to make them in Hong Kong, and it meant so much to bring that skill into this pop-up.

My favorite creation this time was the Pineapple Bun Cookie — and I think it may have been yours too. The crisp bolo bao top paired with the savory richness of salted egg yolk is such a nostalgic combo.

I often share my process on Stories, so I included a few behind-the-scenes moments here. My view is usually trays of cookies and pre-baked beauties during long days of prep. And paradoxically, I rarely see what you see — me standing behind the display, the work complete and on view.

This year, I hope to spend more time on the other side — interacting, connecting, lingering. Visiting other pop-ups, admiring displays, and sharing that joyful space is something I truly love.

I look forward to sharing more pieces of my culture with you in new ways. Here’s to a year of light, sweetness, and togetherness. 🧧💜

Happy Lunar New Year! 🧧🥳

The year of the Fire Horse is well underway. ❤️ Let’s celebrate the Lunar New Year for one more weekend before the festivities end on 3/3 with the Lantern Festival!

We’ll be at Young Tea in Bellevue on Saturday 2/28 from 12-2 with our Lunar New Year gift box and other modern Chinese pastries. Pair them with Young Teas authentic Taiwanese teas and enjoy the beautiful, calm space of the tea shop.

We wanted to share some traditional Chinese pastries with you for the New Year! The Sweetheart pastry or wife cake is an iconic pastry made with a flaky puff pastry crust - that we make by hand and wrap around a sweet, chewy candied winter melon and sesame filling. The Sun cake is the Taiwanese version with a sweet condensed milk-like filling.

The pineapple bun (bolo bao) is a ubiquitous Hong Kong bun and we wondered what it would be like if it got turned into a cookie, so we brought it to life. Introducing our Pineapple Bun cookie with a brown sugar cookie dough, studded with salted egg yolk pieces, and topped with the crisp ‘bolo’ crust. Sweet and savory in all the right ways.

Along with our signature marbled red bean mooncake, matcha butter cookies, and nougat crisp, the set is perfect for pairing with a cup of tea and sharing with your favorite people.

My first time making Linzers — and I couldn’t resist a gingerbread cut-out.

A lightly almond cookie filled with yuzu honey marmalade. Bright, citrusy, and a little unexpected — a holiday classic with an Asian touch.

Chocolate Crinkle Cookie

No twist. No mint. No spice.

Just an irresistible warm, fudgy chocolate cookie — the kind I’d choose if I could only have one dessert for the rest of my life.

Made with two types of decadent Ghirardelli chocolate chips and best enjoyed slightly warm for that gooey center.

Peppermint Nougat Crisp

Our original nougat crisp — soft yet crispy, filled with crackers, fruits, and nuts — with crushed peppermint candy folded in.

Festive, gently minty, and perfect for the holidays (even if my family doesn’t agree 😌). ❤️🤍

All of this, gathered into a box made just for you.

Filled with 6 unique treats, let me tell you about these 3 with our unique take on cookies with an Asian flair.

🧡 Salted Egg Yolk Shortbread

I don’t eat as many sweets as you might expect — but I love a sweet + savory combo.

This cookie exists because of that craving. Buttery, flaky shortbread with the deep, savory umami of salted egg yolk. Crisp at the edges, tender in the center, and quietly addictive.

If you love balance over sweetness, this one’s for you. I’ll bring extra boxes of these salted egg yolk shortbread cookies on their own 🧡

🤎 Hojicha Pecan Nougatine Cookie

My family loves nuts. Like… *really* loves nuts. They still remember a random entremet cake I made nearly eight years ago — simply because the pecans were that toasty and delicious.

This cookie takes toasted pecans coated in caramel and sets them into a buttery hojicha shortbread. As it bakes, the caramel melts and fills the cookie from edge to edge.

I chose hojicha for its warm, roasted notes — think an Asian-inspired pecan pie, in cookie form.

💚 Matcha Wreath Butter Cookie

This butter cookie recipe is one of the very first I made again and again — the kind you memorize without trying.

Light, flaky, and crumbly in the best way, it’s a cookie I never get tired of. I added matcha, shaped it into a wreath, and finished it with white chocolate and dried fruit.

A quiet nod to where this business began 🤍

Chiffon cake, nougat crisp, and these butter cookies I could eat every day. This final version is piped into a wreath — just as I first envisioned it.

So much has changed — both in this little dream and in me — since I began.
I wrote a long letter, but here’s the heart of it:
