Spending some time down at Windy City Smokeout in Chicago surrounded by some of the best in the game.

When you’re in a place where award winning barbecue from all over the country is being served up and put on display, you pay attention. That’s exactly why we are here. To learn, to taste, and to push what we do to the next level.

Big shoutout to the guys at STEEL BELLY BBQ out of Algoma for serving up a pork ribeye that flat out delivered. That one stood out. daynetxbbq brisket was on point too, exactly what you hope for at this level.

We had a lot of great food, a few that didn’t quite hit, but that’s all part of it. You take it in, you learn from it, and you come back sharper.

It breaks our hearts to say this, but this will be our last family photo in the original Heritage 71 building before it is torn down Wednesday morning.

This building has been so much more than four walls. It has been filled with memories, laughter, hard work, and the love of our family, friends, employees, and community. While it’s incredibly difficult to say goodbye, we’ll always be grateful for everything this place has meant to us.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of its story and for standing by us through this journey.

Now, it’s time to turn the page. As difficult as this goodbye is, it marks the beginning of a new chapter.

Let the journey to bring Heritage 71 back begin.

Something new is taking shape!

Introducing Heritage 71 On The Go.

While we work through the next phase, we are bringing the fire outside. Wood fire pizzas built around an authentic Italian oven, barbecue, and live fire cooking with our Santa Maria setup. This is not a scaled down version. It is a different experience built around the same passion.

Our goal is to have the patio open by August 1 if everything lines up. From there, we plan to be open Saturdays from noon to 9 through the rest of summer and into fall, all weather permitting.

This is just the beginning. The menu is in the works and will be shared soon.

Congratulations to Kim and Frank on their wedding. Wishing you both a lifetime filled with happiness. We’re so happy for you both.

It has been a LONG eight weeks. We wanted to get on and make a post with updates as they stand right now. First and foremost, WE WILL be back. We have been working with our insurance company and, given the extent of the damage, it is taking alot of time to sort through everything.
What we know now is that the fire was started by the battery of a power tool that was brought into our establishment by a third party. The entire restaurant has been gutted as much as possible to prepare us for the next steps.
We have spent so much time and energy building this restaurant and it truly breaks our heart to see the building in this state.
This will not be the end of Heritage 71. That being said, we will be closed for an extended amount of time to rebuild. We know how much this restaurant means to the community and it breaks our hearts to not be able to show up every day and serve you all. Thank you for your patience while we get through this.

We did it!

Now we wait. The winners get announced at a ceremony in Green Bay on July 14th!
