In 1907, the Mint Bar opened for business in the heart of downtown Sheridan. At that time, ice was delivered in horse-drawn wagons to the bar's ice box and bartenders wore long white aprons, serving drinks across a mahogany bar. Unfortunately, this scene was short-lived with the enactment of Prohibition in 1919 but a "speakeasy" was quietly operated in the bar's back room for those who disagreed w

ith Congress' latest amendment. Upon Prohibition's repeal in 1933, the Mint Bar reopened. An addition was built on the back of the building to make room for slot machines, roulette wheels and gaming tables, accommodating the thriving gambling clientele in the back room and newly legal drinkers in the front. Known for years as the gathering place for cowboys, ranchers and dudes to tip a cold one and socialize, the Mint was completely redecorated in the late 40's in the rustic style seen today. Knotty pine paneling and gnarled pine burls make up the back bar and thousands of cedar shingles line the walls with local brands. The booths are also cedar. Much of the wild game in the bar was a result of one of the owners' trip to the Yukon in the 50's. The remainder, including the deer, antelope and elk, came from the Sheridan area.

Wood Belly:

Honest, soulful, and bearing a sound all their own, Wood Belly sprouted from the roots of bluegrass to notch a unique home in the broader Americana scene and continues to captivate audiences across the country. With an unrelenting dedication to original songwriting, harmony singing, and artful arrangements, the quintet forges a sound that is based in newgrass and flavored with alt-country, rock, imrpov.

Wood Belly established themselves as a staple of the Colorado and national acoustic music scene by winning the 2018 Telluride Bluegrass festival band competition and being nominated for an IBMA award. Bluegrass Today said “Even now, it’s safe to determine that they’re ones to watch...the freshness and vitality they bear elevates their standing and assures their status as instant contenders”. That freshness continues today as the band takes on a new shape. With a restructuring of the rhythm section, Wood Belly has opened up a world of dynamic range and dimension to be explored.

---------------------------------------

Sagebrush Stringband:

Sagebrush Stringband brings real-deal old-time string band music to the Wyoming music scene. Steeped in Appalachian fiddle tunes, traditional folk songs, and classic country, the band obsessively draws from the deep well of American roots music.
At the heart of the band is husband-wife duo Jack and Erin Clarendon, with Jack on fiddle and Erin on rhythm guitar. Jack, known regionally for his work with Ten Cent Stranger and country singer Shawn Hess, teaches private lessons in Laramie and hosts the Tuesday acoustic jam at the Ruffed Up Duck. Erin anchors the band with her steady old-time guitar playing and a distinctive voice often compared to many of the great classic country singers.
For this show, they’re joined by banjo virtuoso James Armington, making the trip up from Lyons, Colorado, to bring the classic old-time pairing of banjo and fiddle to the stage. James hosts the Lyons Old-Time Jam and is a versatile player, playing both clawhammer and three-finger styles as the tune requires.

Trout Goggles:

Trout Goggles is a four-piece bluegrass, folk, and jam-grass band based in Sheridan, Wyoming, known for their lively rhythms, three-piece harmonies, and songs about mountain living and fly fishing.

The lineup features four distinct songwriters, giving their performances a collaborative and dynamic feel. The band often performs throughout Wyoming, having notably played outdoor community events like Sheridan College Music on the Mall.
