If you’re looking for a home with plenty of room and great features,or more land with the ability to have a fully functional family farm, and plenty of room to garden, this is your place. I wish so much I could pick up my property and my home and move it all to VA with us, but sadly I can’t.
This home offered me so much of everything I always wanted in life; solitude from the typical housing development (they’re great if that’s your vibe, but we had a lot of noisy dogs), tranquility, peace, character, a forever long driveway that was perfect for my kids to ride bikes, scooters and roller skate, a huge (for this city girl) lot of land; nearly 7 acres, beautiful scenery, ( the property is lined with trees and a creek) an open clear sky where the stars just sparkle, a HUGE barn, structurally built like a house….oh, and did I mention the 10ft deep, in ground salt water pool with a heater?! It was literally my dream home. Oh, and my kids were always mesmerized during summer when the sun went down and the fireflies came out, they literally spanned the open land and twinkled as far as you could see. Our French exchange student we hosted (from another school) called it, “magic”. I can’t put into words the amount of beauty this property has to offer.
I absolutely LOVED sitting on the massive deck, sipping coffee in the morning, listening to the birds sing and the creek that ran around half our property, trickle. All while looking out over the yard, barn and pool.
Before moving, our plan for the barn was to make the second level, yes, a second level with double doors that open outward, an apartment or possibly an upgraded man cave. We never got to that point, but the possibilities are endless. We also talked about converting the lower portion of the barn to house horses…but obviously that too didn’t happen lol. This barn was one of my absolute favorite features of this property. Not only is it beautiful, but functional with so many possibilities.
Inside the house had so much character as well…the basement wrapped around the entirety of the house, starting at the kitchen and ending in a room off the back side of the master suite. The back room off the master suite has its own half bath and makes the perfect “man cave”, extra living room, game room, or guest room as it’s accessible through the basement or its own separate doorway. The jack and Jill bathroom upstairs was always a dose of fun for our kids when they were little and the two bedrooms on the first floor have really high beautiful ceilings.
For me, this house had everything I wanted. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the market for such a beautiful home and property.
