đż Discover EbĂŠjico, Colombia â A Mountain Town Shaped by Coffee
As we travel through Antioquia, Colombia, we spent time in EbĂŠjico, a quiet mountain region outside MedellĂn that plays a meaningful role in the countryâs coffee story. Itâs considered a secondary coffee cityânot a major commercial hub, but a place where the real backbone of Colombian coffee lives: family farms, hardworking producers, and generations whoâve built their lives around growing exceptional coffee.
This region is the birthplace of two of our most-loved coffees at Three Oaks: Red Bomb and Spring Break. The landscape, altitude, and microclimates here all shape the vibrant, complex profiles you taste in every cup. Itâs a region that rewards patience, care, and deep connection to the land.
One thing that makes Colombian coffee unique is the support system behind it. Much of the countryâs coffee economy is guided by the FederaciĂłn Nacional de Cafeteros (FNC)âa cooperative-style federation that helps small producers access training, resources, stable pricing structures, and a reliable path to market.
For communities like EbĂŠjico, the Federation is a lifeline, helping family farms stay resilient through market swings and climate challenges.
In a separate post, weâll take you directly to Finca cafetera Milancito, Vereda El Cedro and the team at Los Cedros who grow and cultivate the incredible coffees behind Red Bomb and Spring Break. Their stories deserve their own spotlight.
For now, weâre grateful to share this glimpse into the region that nurtures so much of what ends up in your cup. From the mountains of EbĂŠjico to our roastery in Shelby, this is coffee grown with heritage, heart, and deep-rooted pride.
