I can't believe I need to make this post..

I am having to limit the amount of ranch one order can purchase. We are now going through 8 gallons A DAY. It's very difficult to stop during our dinner rush and make more. So we are limiting. Will be based on order size and amount.

We will still be doing take-out/curbside until some of the state restrictions are a bit more relaxed. Happy to see the lake finally opening up for everyone.

Just a quick thing here.

No one is as eager for the lake to open back up as we are. We rely heavily on the business of those that come up to camp, hike etc.

That said the lake is managed by Southern California Edison NOT Shaver Lake Pizza. We are getting hundreds of calls (as I’m sure other businesses are too) daily asking this exact same question. We don’t know anymore than all of you. We just make the pizzas. 🤷‍♂️

Please be patient with us. We have zero tolerance for those who argue with our staff over decisions that we did not make.

Please check the following website as I’m sure SCE will update it accordingly.

Hey guys, we just wanted to address the county moving further into phase 2. The volume we’re getting is just too much with the restrictions in place. So for the foreseeable future, we will be doing curbside/take out only still. We will have a staff member waiting outside to take orders and food will be brought out to your vehicles. We are encouraging everyone to call in orders or take advantage of our online ordering system. We’re all excited for this weekend and hope everyone stays safe!

- Shane & Megan

05/19/2020

We will be closed tomorrow for some cleaning and maintenance work in preparation for summer.

Sorry for any inconvenience

Pack in, pack out.

Seeing a lot of people litter and dump trash in our parking lots and around the village. Please help us keep our town clean.

05/11/2020

Our hours will be as follows beginning next Monday the 18th.

Mon-Thursday: 11am-8pm
Fri-Sat: 11am-9pm
Sun: 11am-7pm

We are still doing takeout & curbside only. If and when the governor lets us have dining in again (even if limited seating), we will let you know of our plans.

Lastly, we’d like to thank everyone for their continued patience and understanding. We have continued to stay busy over the last few weeks and are super grateful for the business. We’ve been lucky enough to keep all of our 14 staff members on payroll and we plan on hiring more soon.

⁃ Shane & Megan

05/07/2020

Beginning tomorrow we will be switching to a larger 4oz portion cup for our ranch & jalapeños. Pricing will increase to $0.75 per side.

-

Small rant: We make as much ranch as we can hold in a day. Sometimes we run out. If you get upset because we’re out of ranch for your pizza, I don’t know what to tell you. We focus on making pizzas not ranch dressing. 🤷‍♂️ we’re going through about 10 gallons a week right now.

Quick update:

Some items may periodically go in and out of stock as we deal with shortages in the market.

Currently we are fully stocked on all meats and veggies but as we continue to get busier things could change. I’ll try and update everyone if any major items run out.

Easter Sunday hours

12pm-6pm.

Minimal staff is working, so please be patient if we happen to get busy.

04/04/2020

Good morning guys! Looks like we’re gonna be getting a lot of snow this weekend, so WE WILL BE OPEN today, but we’re going to be closed Sunday and Monday.

Again, Shane and I want to thank everyone for all their support.

Megan, Shane, and SLP

04/02/2020

We are politely asking that families only send in a single individual to pick up their orders. We are getting a lot of people coming in at once (particularly groups of teenagers) to pick up smaller sized orders and are having to ask many to please wait outside. We are also offering curbside takeout at this time!

Please understand the safety of the staff and all of you is our #1 priority right now.

Finally, we know many are trying to get away from the valley and naturally are making there way up here. We understand. But please keep in mind we are a rural area and have many older retirees who could potentially be at risk. DO NOT COME UP HERE IF YOU ARE SICK.

- Shane, Megan, and Shaver Lake Pizza crew

03/31/2020

We are now selling draft beer for takeout! BYO growler for $10 or buy one from us for an additional $4.

Beers available:

Modelo
Shaver Lake Pizza Pale Ale
Firestone 805
Firstone Mind Haze
Sierra Nevada 40th Anniversary Hoppy Ale
Tioga-Sequoia Half Dome
Michelob Ultra

**While supplies last**

03/20/2020

Hey everyone! We are still open; however, we are only allowing take-out orders at this time. We are also enforcing social distancing. We are very small with limited spacing, as you know, so we ask that no more than 5 people at a time. We’re encouraging call in orders and ask that you please figure out your order BEFORE coming in. We are trying to get everyone in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible. We’re also trying out a new system that will text you when your pizza is ready for pickup. We’re still in the process of training staff to use this feature.

We are expecting it to be busy this weekend but are working with minimal staff. We ask that everyone please be patient, we are doing the best we can under a lot of pressure. We’re receiving so many phone calls with questions that it’s getting really hard to keep up.

If this continues, we may work on looking into online ordering and if it goes into summer possibly delivery. There’s a lot of logistics that has to go into that, but we just wanted to let you know that we are still focused on giving everyone a great pizza and to keep you all updated.

- Shane, Megan & the SLP Crew

03/18/2020

Hey everyone, we’re going to follow Fresno and Clovis and be limiting our orders to take out only for the time being. We will not be serving draft beer or limiting our menu. Phone in orders are encouraged!

Thank you all!

03/17/2020

Hey everyone, just wanted to update with the following:

Effective immediately, we've shut down the arcade and will be removing the two smaller tables in the center of the dining room. We installed a hand sanitizing station a few months ago and our staff has been sanitizing and cleaning diligently. We are planning to remain open this weekend however, we are concerned it will be busy with the snow. We've made the decision to focus on takeout orders and trying to limit the amount of people in the dining room. We're not entirely sure how well this will work out. We've obviously never had to deal with something like this, but the health of our customers and staff are very important to us. Thank you for your patience and support!

Shane, Megan, & the SLP Crew

03/16/2020

We will be shortening our hours on Monday & Tuesday beginning tomorrow to 12-6pm. Our dining room is still open and our staff is making sure all surfaces and tables are cleaned frequently.

If we have to we may switch to takeout only. We’re playing everything by ear on a day by day basis, so any major updates or changes along those lines will be posted here.

Wash your hands and stay safe.

- Shane.

03/11/2020

Hey everyone. We get a lot of people asking for more vegan/vegetarian options. Right now we only have the Cauliflower pizza crust, but are looking to expand the menu a bit. Currently testing out two plant based options, a beef from Beyond Meats and vegetarian chicken nuggets.

Is this something that would be of interest to some of you? I’m looking to gauge interest/demand here as it’s not an area I’m too familiar with.

Let us know below along with any other suggestions you might have, and we will be sure to take a look at it.

- Shane

02/26/2020

UPDATE: We will be opening up at 4pm with a temporary menu. Hopefully everything should be back to normal tomorrow.

- -

Our prep table decided it had enough and is no longer playing nice and refusing to hold temperature.

Currently closed as we work on repairing it.

No ETA currently

- Shane.

02/09/2020

Update: Opening as usual at 11am.

- -

Due to a major accident on 168 many of our staff are currently unable to make it in. As road is currently closed. We will open when we can.

- Shane.

01/02/2020

Due to the overwhelming amount of orders we have been getting during the night this week. We will STOP taking phone orders at 6pm. I do apologize, but it seems everyone wants pizza at the same exact same time and is putting a huge weight on all of us to rush everything out and it’s having effect on our quality and customer service. I hope you understand.

- shane.

01/02/2020

Hey everyone. It seems we have drained our main suppliers inventory of dough. Our delivery this morning had most of our sizes out of stock. We are currently running to another supplier to pick some up. Opening a bit later today.

Apologies for any inconveniences. Very busy week for us.

12/17/2019

Hey everyone, small update. Every type of tomato is currently in huge demand right now with quality being hit or miss. Demand is exceeding supply and has caused huge jumps in pricing. We can’t justify this high cost and don’t think it’s fair to past onto the customer. So we will have to temporarily take them off our menu until the market is able to bounce back. Hopefully in the next few weeks.

Thanks for your understanding.

- Shane

Not sure why I need to post this but, no we don’t have GrubHub, Postmates or Uber Eats in Shaver Lake.

11/29/2019

Hi guys! We finally got some snow! Unfortunately, due to road conditions our order wasn’t able to make it up to us today. We’re going to have to close at 4 today. Our rep is telling us we should have our order in well before we open tomorrow morning. We’re so sorry for any inconveniences, I’d love to stay open. But I’m almost out of cheese!

Stay safe out there,
Megan, Shane, & the SLP crew

Hey everyone. Currently digging out the building. Open when we can. No ETA.

11/28/2019

Hey everyone. Lots of snow dropping tonight and more possibly throughout the weekend. Talk about a great show opener to this season.

China Peak will be opening up this Friday, so we expect an increase in business. Please be patient, as wait times can fluctuate wildly throughout the weekend. As always check with Caltrans or CHP for current road conditions.

We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to give a quick update on what’s been going on this month and looking for some feedback.

Business: Sales have actually been pretty consistent over this past month with customers, lots of men and women working construction, road work, trees etc.. so if you’ve happen to been by during lunch apologies for the long waits! We can only fit so many calzones in the oven at once!

Appliances: As happens with almost any business, stuff breaks. Last few months haven’t been great to the checkbook. Oven motor blew out. One of our fridges decided it didn’t want to regulate temperature causing hundreds of dollars in lost goods. Swamp cooler died.. So we think (hope) that everything is fixed and will last another season.

Winter is coming: We have finally been able to get some new staff members in preparation for this upcoming season. More coming over the winter holidays. New people can be scary so we have been doing lots of training to make sure everything runs smoothly this year.

Feedback: Where can we we improve? I know majority of our customers don’t check our social media pages. Megan and I are more than happy to correct any mistakes and ensure you love your pizza. That’s the goal! So I’m looking to y’all on suggestions for improvement. What are we doing right? Where can we do better?
Constructive feedback HELPS US GREATLY.

As always thanks for your continued support!

⁃ Shane.

Hey everyone. We’re aware of complaints this week regarding the quality of our pizzas. We believe this is due to the cheese and the recent demand in the dairy market. Producing a much less consistent blend of cheese. We’re working with our main supplier to try and resolve this issue as quickly as possible. We have switched to using another supplier and will update everyone if anything else arrises.

Rest assured our dough and other toppings will continue to be the same and never change for as long as we own this place.

Highly recommend this pizza parlor. Although they did run out of pizza dough that day of the beerfest just shows you how much they are loved. They were so busy do to all the people there for the beerfest, which is understandable. That little inconvenience will not keep me away!! So happy to have such a great pizza place in Shaver!! 👍😋
Hello. I was wondering if you have any gluten free items on your menu and if so, how said items are prepared? I have a son with Celiac (cannot have gluten.. wheat, barley, rye) and will be visiting soon. We come every year but this is the first year since his diagnoses. If nothing is safe for him to eat, would be allowed to bring our own food for him in and still order from the menu for the rest of us at your facility? Thank you for your time.
Grey Pit is missing as of 9/1/18. Owners live in Fresno and we’re up here for vacation. Dog took off at dusk, hasn’t been seen since. He is very family friendly. If you see him & can pen him up, let me know. Owners are putting up $500 reward. TIA
