Today it’s hard for me to write this…

In 2023, I opened Delicias del Viejo in memory of my dad.
It wasn’t just a business. It was a piece of his essence, his teachings, his love for food, for family, and for our community.

Here we served Mexican snacks, ice cream, aguas frescas… but above all, we served love, memories, and community.

Minnesota has gone through difficult times, especially our community in Shakopee, Chaska, and the surrounding areas. The raids and the fear have changed many things. It hasn’t been easy for anyone.

Today, with a heavy heart, I announce that Delicias del Viejo is closing its doors.

But I did not walk this dream alone.

Thank you to my partners, especially Miranda, for believing, fighting, and giving their very best.
To my sister, for her unconditional support every step of the way.
To my son, who was part of this journey and my greatest motivation.
And to every employee who gave their time, effort, and heart to make this place run every single day.

I don’t see this as a failure.
I see it as a chapter that fulfilled its purpose.
I honored my dad. I fought. We worked with dignity. We gave it our all.

Thank you to every person who supported us, who shared our posts, who came with their families, who trusted us. You were part of this dream.

This is not the end.
It’s a pause.
It’s transformation.
Because something my dad taught me was to never give up.

And I am not giving up 🤍

Hoy me cuesta escribir esto…

En el 2023 abrí Delicias del Viejo en memoria de mi papá.
No era solo un negocio. Era un pedacito de su esencia, de sus enseñanzas, de su amor por la comida, por la familia y por nuestra gente.

Aquí servimos antojitos, helados, aguas frescas… pero sobre todo servimos cariño, recuerdos y comunidad.

Minnesota ha atravesado tiempos difíciles, y especialmente nuestra comunidad en Shakopee, chaska y sus alrededores. Las redadas y el miedo han cambiado muchas cosas. No ha sido fácil para nadie.

Hoy, con el corazón apretado, anuncio que Delicias del Viejo cierra sus puertas.

Pero este sueño no lo caminé sola.

Gracias a mis socias, especialmente a Miranda, por creer, por luchar y por dar lo mejor.
A mi hermana, por su apoyo incondicional en cada momento.
A mi hijo, que fue parte de este proceso y mi mayor motivación.
Y a cada empleado que dio su tiempo, su esfuerzo y su corazón para que este lugar funcionara todos los días.

No lo veo como un fracaso.
Lo veo como una etapa que cumplió su propósito.
Honré a mi papá. Luché. Trabajamos con dignidad. Dimos lo mejor de nosotros.

Gracias a cada persona que apoyó, que compartió, que llegó con su familia, que confió en nosotros. Ustedes fueron parte de este sueño.

Esto no es el final.
Es una pausa.
Es transformación.
Porque algo que mi papá me enseñó fue a nunca rendirme.

Y yo no me rindo 🤍

Hi Everyone,

We are on a small well deserved break and wanted to let you all know we will be back operating normal hours on Dec 11th if the weather is favorable. Remember we have shorter days in the winter with the new hours. We will also be closing some days in January so we are letting you guys know from right now.

Thank you all so much for your support we could have not done this with out you all.
