I wasn’t going to share this because what happened last night was a very personal and frightening moment for one of our customers and to be honest......my staff. But after thinking about it, I feel like my staff deserves an AMAZING shout-out for what they did. ❤️
Out of respect for the gentleman involved and his family, I won’t be sharing his name, any identifying details, or the security footage. This post isn’t about putting someone’s private moment on display — it’s simply about recognizing the incredible people who stepped up when someone needed them most.
During the dinner rush, a gentleman enjoying dinner suddenly became unresponsive and fell backward from his stool. The person with him immediately called for help — and what happened next is something I will never forget.
Sara immediately called 911. Laura jumped into action, using a sternal rub and beginning chest compressions. Grant yelled for Rhionna to come help, and Rhionna got down on the floor with him, helping support and protect his head.
Our customers and staff worked TOGETHER to safely get this gentleman onto the floor and help him while we waited for Seville EMS to arrive.
He was blue. He was completely unresponsive. It was terrifying.
But nobody froze.
Nobody was afraid to step in.
Nobody stood around waiting for someone else to do something.
They just HELPED.
Watching the security video afterward brought tears to my eyes. Seeing my employees and our customers working together, doing everything they could for another human being, was absolutely incredible.
And then came the biggest blessing of all…
He WALKED out of Sparky’s. ❤️🙏
We haven’t received an update on how he is doing, but we are certainly hoping and praying that he is okay. If you are reading this, please call and let us know. We are worried about you.
I say all the time that Sparky’s is more than a pizza shop. Last night proved exactly what I mean.
Our customers aren’t just customers. You are our Sparky’s family. We know your names. We know your families. We celebrate with you, laugh with you, cry with you — and when you need us, we are going to be there.
And my staff… I don’t even have the words.
Every single person who works for me brings something different to the table. Different personalities, different strengths and different talents.
Last night, they showed me where they truly shine — taking care of people.
Sara. Laura. Grant. Rhionna....... I am SO incredibly proud of you.
And to the customers who jumped in to help — thank you.
Last night wasn’t about pizza, sales, a dinner rush or anything else.
It was about people taking care of people.
And I don’t think I have ever been more proud to call this little place Sparky’s Pizza Co
