A bit of a read, I know 🫣
Normally, I keep our personal life pretty quiet-ish. I've never been one to post every little detail on social media. If you ask me in person, though, I'm a pretty open book. A little contradictory? Probably. 😂
But lately, I've been thinking about how incredibly grateful we are for the connections we've made through this little business of ours. I don't think I can truly express that gratitude without sharing a little bit of what the last few months have looked like behind the scenes.
Every small business has its ebb and flow. Some days you're doing better than you ever imagined, and other days you're wondering if it's time to throw in the towel. Those highs and lows happen far more often than most people realize. Add in the long hours, physical labor, and constant pressure, and it's a lot. I genuinely believe you have to be just a tiny bit mentally unstable to choose this life... in the best possible way. 🤪😂
And that's before life decides to throw its own curveballs.
As many of our regulars know, we had planned on closing before the move. Then we found the bigger space we'd been searching for for over two years, and we decided to take the leap.
We took on projects we'd never tackled before, thinking we'd only be closed for two or three weeks. Instead, it turned into just shy of six weeks. During that time, Kelly unexpectedly lost his job, leaving our household down another source of income. We just kept telling ourselves, "Get the shop open. We'll figure everything else out later."
When we finally reopened, y'all showed up in a way we'll never forget. Our soft opening kept the shop full all day, and over the last month you've been incredibly patient while we've learned a new space and a new routine. You've even cheered Kelly on as he's learned to run the bar on his own, which is pretty funny considering he was originally the one training us. 😂
Then, because life apparently wasn't finished, our only vehicle decided to take an unexpected vacation. I've step away from the shop at lot lately to pick up extra work and help make up for some of the lost income.
And honestly... that's just some of the ways life has been life-ing lately.
None of this is meant to ask for sympathy. It's simply to say thank you.
Thank you for every drink you've bought, every kind word, every message checking on us, every recommendation, every bit of patience, and every ounce of support you've shown us. It may seem small to you, but it has meant the world to us.
This shop has become so much more than a business. It's become a community filled with people who genuinely care, and we truly wouldn't have made it through this season without you.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us. We're excited for what's ahead, and we're so thankful you're on this journey with us. 🖤🫶🏼🖤🫶🏼
