Quick weekly update for everyone this morning! We were able to pass out 112 plates last week.

The past few weeks have been difficult to say the least, but we have have made it work. Just to give some insight on what is going on behind the scenes, I’d like to share some information about the donations that have been coming in. Last week, serving over 150 people, 112 of those either free or below cost, we brought in just under $400 in donations. It costs on average (including food, utilities, and other overhead expenses) about $1,000 a week to run this place with our current volume of plates going out to people in need. Everyone here is volunteering their time as nobody is receiving any kind of pay. We all just felt the call to help and support our community.

I was honestly letting people know by Saturday last week that we may not be open all three days this week due to lack of funds, but God came through over the weekend and we had some donations come in that should help us get by for a couple more weeks.

If you would like to help us continue to build this ministry, I only ask for your prayers and for you to please speak to your churches, pastors, or other leaders in the community. Share what we are doing and how it is helping our widows, widowers, and disabled neighbors. We have so many people that are living paycheck to paycheck on Social Security or disability in our community that need the service we provide. Many of them have told us that their only hot meals each week come from us.

The hours will remain the same this week, but I’m hoping to do another increase next week. We’ll be open 11-3 Thursday, 11-6 Friday, and 11-6 Saturday.

Menu for this week is:

Thursday
Smoked meatloaf with carrots and mashed potatoes
Chicken spaghetti
House salad with fried chicken

Friday
CFS with carrots and mashed potatoes and your choice of white or bacon jalapeño gravy
Chicken and rice casserole
Caesar salad with fried chicken

Saturday
Jägerschnitzel with German potato salad, spätzle, and sauerkraut
Bratwurst with French fries
Bacon wedge salad

Hey everyone! We were able to serve 110 people for free last week here at The Shepherd’s Table.

Thank you to everyone that has supported us through prayer, time, and donations. August is always a rough time for many restaurants, and I would be lying if I said the past few weeks have been easy. There’s been a lot of praying, running on faith, and creative menus to make sure we are still able to be there for the community and offer, in many cases, the only hot meals our guests receive each week.

Over the next few weeks, I want to try to reach people in our community that would be willing and able to commit to small monthly donations. If you can help with $10-$25 per month, that goes so far in helping our local community and keeps me from having to scramble to keep the lights on each month.

I can’t express how deeply grateful I am to everyone for making this a reality, and I am truly blessed to be able to do what God has called me to do.

I am continuing to recover from surgery, but I will be increasing hours a bit this week. Hours this week will be Thursday 11-3, Friday 11-6, Saturday 11-6.

Thursday:

Smoked meatloaf with pinto beans and mashed potatoes
Smoked chicken with pinto beans, mashed potatoes and cornbread
House salad with grilled chicken

Friday:
Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, pinto beans and your choice of white or bacon jalapeño gravy
Chicken and broccoli casserole
Caesar salad with grilled chicken

Saturday:
Philly Cheesesteak casserole
Chicken strips with French fries
Bacon wedge salad

Hey everyone! We were able to pass out 118 plates last week to people in our community that are in need, but I have run into a slight problem…

Due to my recent surgery, I’ve had to adjust our hours since I can’t be on my feet for 16 hours a day, just yet. I’m trying to get back to later hours as quickly as possible, but I’m still experiencing swelling after working a few hours. Since we’ve been having to close early, it seems that we are missing a lot of the people who were donating and helping us cover our food costs and utilities. Last week was a bit better, but we are still trying to get the funds together to make sure all of our costs are covered for the month.

If you, or someone you know, are able to help even a little bit, we would greatly appreciate it.

I don’t enjoy making these posts, but I will do whatever I have to in order to continue serving this community. Many of you have seen the good that we have done, and if you haven’t, I encourage you to come by and grab a plate. See the impact we’re making here, and help keep this ministry going.

Thank you for your continued prayers, support, and generosity!

Hours this week will be Thursday 11-3, Friday 11-6, and Saturday 11-3.

This week’s menu will be:

Thursday:

Smoked meatloaf with green beans and mashed potatoes
Chicken Spaghetti
House salad with grilled chicken

Chicken and rice casserole
Caesar salad with grilled chicken

Hey everyone, I just came across a need in the community and wanted to see if we could help out.

There is an elderly widow living in Tool that is in need of a refrigerator. She has had some issues with people saying that they would help, and then taking advantage of her by taking her food, money, etc.

If anyone has a small mini fridge, or would like to donate so that we can get her a working refrigerator, please let me know.

Donations can be made on our website: https://shepherdstableccl.org, CashApp or Venmo with the username “ShepherdsTableCCL”

I’ll be taking her some food today after I close, and if we can get the money together or a refrigerator donated, I’ll go by Lowe’s and get one for her on the way.

Thank you for supporting and helping us serve the community in every way we can!
