Today officially marked the end of my chapter at The Whiskey as we completed the sale of the club and I handed the keys over to its new owners.
While many have referred to it as “closing,” I simply see it as passing the torch after ten unforgettable years.
As I reflect on the past ten years, what I’ll remember most isn’t the building, the business, or even the events—it was “the people”.
To every customer who walked through our doors, thank you. Thank you for your loyalty, your friendship, your laughter, and for allowing us to be a part of your lives. While our job was to brighten your day, there were countless times that you brightened ours.
Together we celebrated birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, anniversaries, promotions, and yes…even a few divorces. We made it through hurricanes, COVID, busy nights, slow nights, and everything in between. Along the way, so many of you stopped being customers and simply became friends.
Some of my favorite memories will always be the unexpected ones—customers dressing up and the craziest costumes for our themed parties, many of you breaking into dance on the floor when a favorite song came on, and our monthly church ladies stopping by simply to offer a smile, a hug, and words of encouragement to our entertainers. Moments like that reminded me that kindness can be found in the most unexpected places.
The Whiskey became so much more than a business to me. It was a place where friendships were built, memories were made, and lives crossed paths in ways I’ll never forget.
Thank you for supporting not only me, but every bartender, DJ, server, manager, entertainer, and staff member who called The Whiskey home. It has truly been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
Thank you for an unforgettable ten years. I wish each of you nothing but happiness, good health, and many wonderful memories of your own in the years ahead.
With my heartfelt appreciation,
Cherie
Owner, The Whiskey (2016-2026)
