Good Morning, GeekOut Fam!

We wanted to share something that’s been on our minds and hear your thoughts. With the construction blocking our front entrance, we’ve noticed a real shift — UpScale Hobbies is down about 50% compared to this time last year, and the café is feeling the pinch too. Our events help, but day‑to‑day visits have definitely changed.

So we’re genuinely curious:
Has the lack of a front entrance made you less likely to stop in for a coffee or swing by the Hobby Shop?

We’ve seen comments about the town or state stepping in, and we wish that were an option. But as Indiana common law puts it, businesses don’t have a legal right to the “free flow of traffic” past their property. So for now, we’re doing our best to adapt.

We know the detour is inconvenient. We know it adds a few extra minutes. And we know every business on this side of the construction is feeling it. But your support — even the small stuff — truly makes a difference. A $4 coffee, a $3 pot of paint, a comic, a thrift find… every dollar spent here goes right back into this community and the people who work hard to keep these little shops alive.

Thanks for sticking with us through the mess. Thanks for caring. And thanks for being the kind of community that shows up for its neighbors.

We appreciate you more than you know. 💛

Good morning, GeekOut Fam!

Our pop‑up vendor event is already buzzing, and if you’re not here yet… you might be missing out.

Swing in and snag a free poster, comic, or Pokémon pack for the kiddos from Madd Comics. Check out the awesome collectibles and comics from Your Royal Majesty. Grab some handcrafted creations from Vintage Lily Creations. And if you’re feeling brave (or just delightfully nerdy), get a quick geeky flash tattoo from LowBrow Tattoo Company.

Vendors are here until 1 PM, but the good stuff never waits — come hang out before you hear everyone else talking about what you missed.

Louie said, “I create art. Whether thats a tattoo, a painting, or something else thats what I do. Sometimes it helps them heal. Sometimes it helps them remember something. Other times they have an extra $100 bucks. I listen when they need it and I try every day to outdo their requests. But in the end I make art. Hopefully it does the job and helps them or carries them along until the next time. Along the way i make friends, learn things, and generally enjoy my time with them.”
