Coffee connects us.
One of the ways we put that into practice is by building and maintaining relationships with the producers we work with. Every year, we travel to origin to spend time with our farmers, listen to their challenges, learn from them, and ask how we can continue to support one another.
That same spirit of connection extends to our community here in Seattle. When our longtime wholesale partner, Zeitgeist Coffee, upgraded their espresso machine, they chose to donate their previous machine to Coopelibertad in Costa Rica. We helped refurbish it before it made the journey to the Mujeres de Libertad project, a group supporting women coffee producers through education, collaboration, and opportunities to strengthen their coffee businesses.
The machine will help create a space for producers to learn more about coffee quality, preparation, and tasting—connecting the work happening at the farm with the future of coffee. From our relationships with farmers to the relationships we build in our own community, we believe coffee has the power to create connections, share knowledge, and create opportunities far beyond the cup.
