In honor of the upcoming Pride Bellingham Parade New Public will be giving out free pride stickers with any order for the month of July! This was supppsed to be a part of this mornings hot dog post but I completely spaced it 🙃 thank you Stickers For Days | Custom Stickers, Labels and Fleet Graphics for such a quick turnaround time! Y’all I don’t even know what’s going on anymore. Does anyone? What I do know is that I wake up every morning and make myself a damn fine cup of coffee and go to work and do my very best. I don’t advertise and never asked for a single vote (I was actually unaware as I was three months out of surgery). So I am once again shocked to receive gold in this category. A whole decade of my life dreaming, creating and running this little business of mine. Not gonna lie, I’m tired as hell but I’m so pound of what I’ve accomplished. This business has been my biggest teacher, for better or worse. Thank you for sharing the journey with me. Thank you for sticking with me. Thank you for loving me even when I’m hard to love. Thank you for everything. These last ten years have changed my life in more profound ways than any other decade has, in ways I can’t go into in this celebration post- but - you have all helped me be a better human and for that I am eternally grateful. Economy got you down? Come cry about it over the Broken Dreams Nachos. Single stacked. Broken chips. $8.50 Wash it down with a $3 local beer or $4 iced vegan coffee drink 💔 Play some ping pong (yes they have a 🏓 table!). Move your body. Proof of life post: Hello 2026 from New Public. As many of you know I closed in early Dec for a much anticipated surgery (hip arthroscopy on 12/17) to repair a very painful labral tear that brought on a lot of chronic pain over the last 2.5 years. But enough about that. I am 3 weeks post surgery and am already feeling so much better and in so much less pain. The first two weeks were BRUTAL- I couldn’t drive and could hardly get around on crutches and getting my coffee from the kitchen to the couch felt like an Olympic sport. Thank you to my wonderful neighbors and friends who helped me during that time! I suspect the pain I am feeling now (very low most days) is part of the recovery and I am feeling very optimistic for the first time in a very long time. My goal was for New Public to reopen towards mid to late Feb and I really think this is possible. I have an amazing surgeon who fixed all my ouchies and most importantly, she listened to me and didn’t gaslight me like all of the male otho surgeons did over the years. I am taking this time to rest and let my body heal along with doing all my PT homework and following doctors orders to stay on crutches until she says so (another 3 weeks). This industry is so brutal on the body and I have learned my lesson- I am slowing down. I plan on staying at Evil Bikes with the occasional event if I am feeling up to it. Ok. That pretty much sums it all up. I added a few proof of life pics in no particular order from right before and after surgery. I made sure to decorate my living room so I could have a very merry little solo post-op Christmas! Pain meds and all. Hope everyone is doing well. See y’all next month, hopefully! 😘
