Launches today in all stores!

You guys - we know you know about the beloved Miso Moon ice cream flavor. It’s an umami-lovers dream with chickpea miso caramel giving depth and salt like none other ✨

For the first time ever we’ve paired this ice cream flavor with our Miso Oat cookie and might we say we’ve outdone ourselves this time…

You’ll find this dream of an ice cream sandwich in the freezer cases at all shops until we switch, probably next month :)

STATE FAIR

We love thinking on themes that relate to seasons and create feelings. September is so many things, but this year we chose to embody the senses of the State Fair. I grew up going to the Puyallup Fair with my family, and have fond memories fo the smells, the flavors, the rides, and especially holding my parents hands tight weaving through masses of people.

Ice Cream is ALL about celebrating life, creating and drawing upon memories, and connecting us to love and home through tradition and culture. It’s why the scent of waffle cones has been turned into perfumes and candles - it is sooo nostalgic. (btw did you know that smell of waffle cones is from unnatural manufactured flavorings and scents? This is why our waffle cones don’t smell as strong - we use pure vanilla extract and make it ourselves. Ha, side note).

Anyways…

Churro Churro - soft, squishy fried dough covered in cinnamon and sugar

Caramel Apple - bright and tart granny smiths draped in sticky salty caramelized sugar

Candy Clouds - fluffy pink and blue cotton candy by the handfuls

This is Bennett. Bennett has been making your ice cream for 8 years. That’s 8 out of the 10 years we’ve been making ice cream, and that’s a really, really amazing thing. I could write a book on Bennett and the ways I’m so grateful for him and all he does, but this video is about CHURROS.

YOU SHOULD COME EAT THESE CHURROS ON A SUNDAE this weekend.

*Warm fresh-baked churro on the side (made by our kitchen, from SCRATCH)

(fun fact did you know we have been using Hot Cakes organic chocolate sauce that I created in 2008, since we opened in 2016!? We still support and love that business, even though I sold it in 2020 ☺️)

CANDY CLOUD

This month for our state fair inspiration, we thought we’d try the impossible - cotton candy ice cream without the food coloring OR the flavoring. Did you know that cotton candy gets it’s flavor from a manufactured flavor that tastes like caramelized sugar?

We also learned that the blue flavor of cotton candy is blue raspberry, which is also a manufactured flavor, but was developed using constituents of banana, raspberry and pineapple.

We think this flavor lives in a world of its own - in the finish it’s certainly reminiscent of cotton candy, but in the middle it’s just a flavor bomb of fresh fruit that has our taste buds doing cartwheels!

PINK: Vanilla Strawberry is made using whole organic whidbey island strawberries and vanilla extract. No other coloring added.

BLUE: Blue Raspberry, made with fresh pineapple, organic raspberries and fresh banana and we use blue spirulina for color.

We’re so curious if you’ve tried this flavor and what you think!? It was certainly an experiment for us and we’d love to hear from you!

CARAMEL APPLE

This flavor is one you can’t help but go back to, bite after bite. It’s tangy and bright like a Granny Smith apple, and salty and sweet from a caramel base. Swirls of Granny Smith apple jam give pockets of apple explosion, topping off this umami experience.

It’s sunny today, come grab a scoop as the last days of summer show their beauty!

BACKYARD PLUM SUNDAE

In all Seattle shops today!

Every year, about this time, our COO Brian McFadin asks us WHO WANTS PLUMS I HAVE POUNDS AND POUNDS. We always say YES DUH, but this year, we collectively said YES DUH let’s make a sundae and our kitchen made a wildly delicious compote which we have lovingly paired with our brown butter granola and brown sugar vanilla ice cream for the most late-summer, post-lunar eclipse deliciousness you can imagine.

We open at 12pm today, see you this weekend maybe?

Also, make your every hour this weekend count - August is nearly over and soon the season of Autumnal slowness will be upon us. Soak every little sparkle of light into your heart and find the beauty in the spaces between ✨ 😘❤️
