Ok, ok, I get it now! 😍

A gentleman come in and told us about the best fritter he'd ever had- a banana fritter. Now the Mermaid was a tiny bit dubious, but decided that since today is a holiday it was time to try it (although she did make a backup flavor just in case 🤣)...

Oh man, this is excellent! Crispy edges, poofy inside, and perfectly caramelized banana chunks... I completely understand why he recommended it! Limited number today, but we will definitely be making it again.

To finish off your last day of summer on a sweet note we will be open 7-3!

It is the happy state the Mermaid is currently living in, pretending that summer is not over!

If you want to join us in our happy bubble, check out the summery flavors we have in store today. First off is our stupendous sundae of the week- S'mores! Toasted marshmallow and chocolate soft serve flavors, swirled together, and loaded with chunks of our s'mores cookie, graham cracker teddy cookies, mini marshmallows, Hershey bars, chocolate sauce, marshmallow sauce, and whipped cream. This behemoth is big enough to share, and yummy enough to want to keep all to yourself.

Biscuits & gravy again this morning, and it passed the Mer-grampa test (of course). We leaned in to the tropical flavors with a pineapple mango sweet roll alongside our regular cinnamon sweet roll, and did a spiced pear fritter today this is one of my new favorites! So good! Fall may be creeping in from the outside, but we're clinging to summer inside!

The Mermaid is in denial about the rain, and decided to create a picnic with this weekend's menu (down to the uninvited visitors)! 🤣 We have a strawberry starfish, a perfectly toasted s'mores cookie, a lemonade danish snail, a coconut cream jellyfish, a cherries & cream hand pie, and a fabulously fruity Ambrosia Salad milk donut! I know every family has their own version of Ambrosia- ours has pistachio, mandarin oranges, maraschino cherries, banana, pineapple, and mini marshmallows. Light, fluffy, and loaded with fruit.

We've had two new shipments of Lego in in the last two weeks, including a limited number of advent calendars and this adorable wreath. So cute!

We will be open regular hours for Labor Day, and will be staying open 7 days a week for the foreseeable future. Hope to see you soon!

See these three cuties? This is Winnie, Webster, and Whitney Whale. They're new to our mug wall, and I didn't even have to come up with cute names, they came in that way! 😍 I love them. They make me smile every time I walk past.
You know what doesn't make me smile? Looking past them and seeing that it's still dark at 6:48 in the morning! 😭 That makes me sad. In order to turn that frown upside down, we're going to be making the most of this last extra week of summer with fabulous flavors all week.

Today's creation brings to mind carefree childhood treats- an icy scoop of rainbow sherbet on a hot summer day. Fruity, fresh and fully fabulous! Try our Rainbow Sherbet Starfish, Bavarian Cream Crab, or any one of the other dozen plus goodies fresh in the case today.

If the drizzle makes you want savory comfort, today's soup is one of my favorites. I call it my 'hug in a bowl'! Roasted red pepper tomato with a tiny hint of smoked gouda. It is a tomato soup that loves itself, and doesn't mind being a little extra. Enjoy chunks of roasted tomatoes, a hint of onion and garlic that we puree in, and the Chubby Hubby finishes it with a generous handful of fresh shredded smoked gouda and a dash of heavy cream. Not enough to be a 'cream' soup, just enough to give it some richness and those little tiny pops of smokey goodness. I can't even tell you how comforting this soup is! You'll just have to taste it for yourself.

And oh my goodness, you guys made my day yesterday!
I had an orientation meeting for my cookie decorating class at the college last night, and found out that it is completely sold out, in less than a week! 🥹♥ I'm working with them to try and add a second session for the week after. They have to make sure it doesn't conflict with anything else, so as soon as I get the green light I'll let you all know. I'm also checking my calendar to see about getting a class on the books for winter term (begins in January). Thank you all so much, I'm super excited for this new expanded class!

How in the world did it get to August 31st already? 🥹

With Labor Day being late this year we still have a week before school starts for most kiddos around here, but it seems like summer vanished in the blink of an eye. I don't know about you, but I'm going to try and cling to the last week of summer with everything I've got!

Last day to try to Orange Marmalade milk donut. I think I'm going to head in a tropical direction next... 🍍🌴 I'm not saying we make the perfect apple fritter, but dozens of you do, and I'm too polite to argue with ya! 😘 Pillowy soft center, crunchy edges, and loads of apple. Yum!

We have a ton of Turkish beach towels in stock right now, and if you haven't checked them out, you should! The Mer-Grammy uses them as a shawl. The Mermaid likes to use them as a throw blanket. They also work great to keep in your car for random beach picnics. Or, you know, they *are* actually towels! Whatever way you want to use them, we have dozens of designs in stock right now.

Three pieces of housekeeping- if you haven't been in for a week or so, you may not know that our loyalty card is now digital! No more keeping track of random cards- it will track your points automatically now. Yay!
Our Chubby Club boxes start up again with Halloween, so head over to our website and reserve yours soon. We ship anywhere in the US, so even if you're not local you can get your Chubby on!
Finally, if you've ever wanted to learn how to decorate sugar cookies like a pro, now is your chance! The Mermaid will be teaching a class at Oregon Coast Community college this fall that covers design, recipes, baking, and decorating our stunning sugar cookies. We are the very first class listed in the catalog that went out last week, or you can check out their website to sign up. This is a super fun class, and you'll leave with all the tools, recipes, and skills to make your holiday baking even brighter. 😊
