Dear Seabrook Community,
Many of you have reached out asking when we will reopen. We wish we had a clear answer.
As most of you know, we have been waiting for structural repairs to be completed for many months in truth, for years we have raised concerns about the condition of the floors and underlying structure. After the situation worsened and became unsafe, we had no choice but to close.
The required restoration work began and then was stopped after inspection and until proper permits are issued. Unfortunately, the landlord and property management team are responsible for obtaining those permits and we are still waiting.
Given current permitting delays and contractor backlogs in Charleston County, we are unable at this time to provide a reopening date.
This is deeply painful for us.
Saveurs has never just been a restaurant. Many of you have told us that this place felt like “the church after the church.” It has been a gathering space, a morning ritual, a place for friendships, for celebrations, for quiet coffee and conversation. We understand what its absence means to so many of you especially to members of our senior community who made this part of their daily lives.
Please know this situation is not of our choosing.
We invested our hearts, our savings, and years of work into serving this community. We remain hopeful, but we must also be honest: at this moment, we do not know when or if we will be able to reopen at this location.
