Big news from the iDropped family!

As of today, iDropped of Stroudsburg has joined our corporate family under the same ownership as your Dickson City location. For the first time, iDropped is unified across Luzerne, Lackawanna, and Monroe counties -- one owner, one team, one standard of service.

What does that mean for you? It means no matter which location you visit, you're getting the same quality repairs, the same customer experience, and the same team you've come to trust right here in Dickson City.

Three of our people went to the Gadget Repair Expo in Atlantic City. I stayed behind and covered their shifts.

Marissa, Connor, and Cory have spent years building this business with me. They solder, they recover data, they handle the customers who walk in convinced their phone is dead. They are the reason iDropped works. When the biggest conference in our industry landed three hours from our shops instead of Vegas or Atlanta, sending them wasn’t a perk. It was overdue.

They met our vendors face-to-face for the first time after years of phone calls. They sat in on TV repair, audio repair, and screen refurbishing demos. Marissa got to meet Jessa Jones, who has trained half the serious microsoldering talent in this country. Connor spent time at the Amtech booth getting deep on flux, which matters more than most shop owners realize. Cory walked the floor like he was taking inventory of the entire industry.

They are coming back with new accessories to test, new techniques to bring into the bench, and the kind of confidence you only get from standing in a room full of people who do what you do and realizing you belong there.

Nearly fourteen years in, the best part of this job is watching the people who built it with me get the experiences they earned.

🔧 Employee Spotlight: Marissa Foley 🔧

Marissa has been absolutely crushing it the last two days and deserves every bit of recognition coming her way.

In the past 48 hours she tackled multiple iPads, a tricky MacBook repair, and an iPod that started as a simple screen swap and turned into a full solder job with multiple components replaced. She's also working through a problem iPhone, two problem PS5s, and a GPS.

All of this while managing a busy day at our Dickson City location solo, plus carryover projects, regular traffic, and escalated issues coming in regionally.

Here's what makes this even more impressive: Marissa is most often recognized for her leadership, dedication, and regional management responsibilities, and rightfully so, but she doesn't always get credit for the technician she's become. When she came up in this industry, the work was basic. No complex soldering. No multi-point diagnostics. Over the years she's become our go-to for the most unexpected repairs: car and truck displays, watches, you name it. She is our resident watch whisperer. 🕰️

She has had to completely adapt to our pace and our can-do culture, and she has risen to meet every single ask.

You've come a long way, Marissa. 💪 We see you. Boom. 🎉

The formula in this industry is buy, sell, repair. Most shops follow it. We intentionally went the other way.

Yesterday Connor and I spent the day with David Kresge, the original inventor of SnapLok chimney inspection cameras, now under new ownership by HY-C Company out of St. Louis. Dave drove down from Connecticut just for this. We went deep on electrical systems and design details that only the inventor can give you.

Then he took us for a spin in his Maserati, which we absolutely did not see coming.

This started because Olympia Chimney in Pittston trusted us with cameras nobody else could fix. Connor reverse-engineered them on his own before we ever had formal support. Yesterday we filled in the rest.

Phones, tablets, computers, chimney cameras. If it's broken, bring it to us. We keep our retail affordable and our focus on the work. That's always been the NEPA way and we're proud to keep this work right here where it belongs.

Thank you, NEPA, for continuing to support our locally-owned small business. Born Here, Built Here isn't just a tagline for us - it's who we are. Your trust in us means everything.

This year was all about leveling up. Our team pursued advanced training in data recovery, soldering, and specialized repairs - including industrial cameras that almost no one else in the world is fixing. Watching our technicians tackle these challenges and grow their skills makes me incredibly proud.

Our biggest surprise? Acquiring the residential business of award-winning Nepa Geeks. It happened organically - we kept working closer together until it just made sense to officially be one team. We added their talented computer guys to the iDropped family, and it's been a welcome addition.

Beyond our Edwardsville and Dickson City stores, it's been a big year for the whole iDropped family. Our Stroudsburg franchisee Andrew became a grandfather, our Knoxville franchisee Tiekel welcomed his first son, and me? I turned 50.

It was eventful. It was growth. It was community.

To Team iDropped - you make me proud every day.

I've been having way too much fun lately working on new creative content for iDropped. It's taking me back to my advertising and marketing days - before I ever picked up a phone to fix it.

Here's the thing: every business owner brings their own identity to their brand. That's what makes us different from each other, and *way* different from corporate shops.

Some business owners are natural sales people. Some are athletes who treat business like a sport - all strategy and competition. Me? I'm a creative. I see problems differently. I connect dots other people miss. And I build things - whether it's a repair shop, a new service, or a social media post that actually makes you smile.

One of the best parts? I get to pick my creative team. I get to work with incredibly talented people who have skills way beyond mine - and they inspire the hell out of me. There's nothing better than getting excited about someone's idea, riffing off each other, and watching something super cool emerge that neither of us would've come up with alone.
