Breaking Big Food is a dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it... 💪🏼

We made a movie called "BREAKING BIG FOOD" which loosely follows the creation of Firefly, and broadly dives into the clean food scene here in Arizona. (It was released on Apple TV & Amazon Prime Video in Jan 2026.)

Alex Clark -- the host of the very popular Culture Apothecary podcast -- was featured in our documentary. And she recently sat down to talk about it with Mike Rowe on his podcast. (Now the "Dirty Jobs" headline is making sense, right? 😉)

Click here to skip ahead to the 40:53 mark (https://youtu.be/p62x7C1Ysgs?t=2453&is=GEV_rAUZowfy0bW3) where Mike & Alex talk about the documentary.

ICYMI... Clean Seed Oil-Free Sandwich Shop Now Open in Scottsdale! 🥪

Last week we told you about Suzi & JT, the co-founders of Hook N Cleaver. In case you missed it, here's the story again...

About 6 months ago, we met Suzi & JT when they came into Firefly for the first time, and they told us about their visions for a different kind of clean meat market / sandwich shop. They opened their doors just a few weeks ago, and they're crushing the game!

Hook N’ Cleaver Market was created with a purpose. When Suzi and JT opened the doors on June 16th, their vision was bigger than simply opening another neighborhood market—they wanted to create a place where the community could shop fearlessly, knowing the food and products they bring home are rooted in clean ingredients and thoughtful standards. From seed oil-free foods to carefully selected products, Hook N’ Cleaver is about making clean eating easier, more accessible, and something you can genuinely feel good about. We’re incredibly excited to welcome our community through the doors, share what we’ve built, and grow Hook N’ Cleaver into a neighborhood destination for real food, clean products, and better everyday choices.

At Hook N’ Cleaver Market, quality and freshness are at the heart of everything we offer. Our meat counter features an exceptional selection of Prime beef cuts, with grass-raised, grass-finished beef for customers looking for clean, thoughtfully sourced options. Our fresh fish is delivered three to four times a week, & we carry organic chicken from Mary's so there’s always something fresh to bring home for dinner. Need something ready now? Grab one of our convenient pick-up-and-go meals or fresh salads, or stop by the kitchen for a fresh sandwich made to order. Best of all, our kitchen is 100% scratch-made and seed oil free—because we believe great food starts with real ingredients, careful preparation, and absolutely no shortcuts.

Hook N Cleaver (https://www.hookncleaver.com) is in Scottsdale near Frank Lloyd Wright & 100th street. (Google maps (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Qpe8tLXiLP9Weuyt6) )

Do yourself a favor, drop by, and fill up a bag of deliciousness. And tell them hi from the Firefly team. 😊

🥣 Chef Kevin serving up clean Mediterranean Summer Chicken Bowls...

We met Chef Kevin of Steele Table about a year ago through our friends at Schef's Farm.

And we had a great idea the other day -- let's ask Chef to create a clean and fresh lunch bowl that he could serve up at Firefly.

Chef is ready to unveil his creation tomorrow, Fri Aug 7 from 10am-2pm...

Sous Vide Organic Chicken Breasts, finished with Schef's Farms Microgreen Gemolata, served with preserved lemon & currant basmati rice, Persian cucumber, baby tomato, and sweet baby pepper mint salad, with A2 Greek yogurt tzatziki sauce.

My mouth is watering after typing that...

So come join us for Friday lunch and meet Chef Kevin in person. (Btw, don't be shy -- ask Chef about his private chef and meal prep services.)

🍔 Smash burgers all weekend!

Speaking of Schef's Farm, their world famous smash burgers will be served at Firefly this weekend on Sat Aug 8 & Sun Aug 9 from 10am-2pm. See you this weekend! 🤩

🍩 No donuts -- Baby on the way 👶

ICYMI...Congrats to our friends at Blessed Oven -- they have a baby on the way! 😮 So they're putting their business on pause for the next several months to give momma & daddy time to prepare. The plan is to circle back in November-ish. Congrats!!

🎥 ICYMI...on the Alex Clark podcast!

In case you missed it, Firefly founders Patrick & Ashley were guests on Alex Clark's "Culture Apothecary" Podcast spilling The Truth About Coffee (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sbFeAtA3Y0) . (Pun intended.)

Getting the chance to chat with Alex about mold-free, organic coffee was a dream come true.
