The East Chicago Zel's will be closing on November 15th. This has been a difficult decision as we've been a part of the community serving loyal customers for over 58 years! Stop by for a meal before we close and share your greatest memory of Zel's in East Chicago! Please note our locations in Hammond and Crown Point are NOT closing and we hope to serve all of the East Chicago customers at these locations going forward. Thanks for over 58 years East Chicago...it's been a privilege serving this community.

The word “burgers” it’s self is derived from the word “Hamburgers”, and no, not because the burgers were bade out of ham. They were actually called “Hamburgers” because of the Hamburg steaks that burgers were made out of, imported by German immigrants.
