As 2025 comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on what 22 years of supporting community food gardens has taught me.
At SeedMoney, we’ve helped more than 3,300 public food gardens take root across all 50 U.S. states and 60+ countries—supporting school gardens, community plots, food bank gardens, and other grassroots efforts to grow fresh food locally.
What makes this work powerful is the model. SeedMoney’s approach is designed to multiply impact—by combining community fundraising with challenge grants to unlock millions of dollars in local giving for projects that often operate on the margins.
With public funding under increasing pressure, these community-led solutions matter more than ever.
