With mixed emotions, I am announcing that this weekend will be the final weekend for The Peasant’s Pantry. After Sunday, The Pantry will make way for the expansion of The Historian Cocktail Lounge currently sharing the same space.
The decision to say goodbye to The Pantry is not due to a lack of success nor was it made in haste. In fact, it was made with the best intentions for my businesses, my staff, and our quality of life.
Going forward, I’ve decided the best way to serve this community in a culinary fashion was to expand the Historian and work to open my French bistro next door. I am so excited that the Historian has been incredibly successful and I hope to build on that success by offering more seating as well as a space to host private events, cocktail classes, and wine tastings.
I am also excited that my plan to open a French Bistro next door is taking shape and I’m hopeful to have a 2024 opening. More on that later.
I do want to take a moment and thank all of our loyal customers. Serving you at the Pantry has been a complete joy. My entire staff has looked forward to chatting with you while serving you some of the best breakfast and lunch food around. Even when we transitioned into a small bakery and grab ‘n go shop, you’ve stood by us and we are incredibly grateful for every one of you. We look forward to continuing to serve you at The Historian and future bistro.
To the Pantry staff, past and present, I want to thank you for all of your hard work, dedication, and loyalty to this little building that could (and did). Even to the few of you who made me want to tear my hair out and run out into traffic…thanks for the life lessons. It’s been a true joy watching so many of you grow into an amazing success and all-around good people. Your dedication to The Pantry is a true testament to what we’ve built here.
To my General Manager, most trusted confidant, and dear friend, Kathy. You’ve been by my side since Day 1 and the success of The Pantry has more to do with you and your dedication than it does anyone else. Your honesty, loyalty, and love for this place is so evident and I couldn’t have done it without you…nor would I have wanted to. I’d proudly tell anyone that you were the reason I ended up here in Harbor Country in the first place. The universe knew I needed you in my life. And please know, you’re never getting rid of me. I look forward to you growing with our businesses and seeing what the world has in store for us.
And to my James…onward. Looks like we’re shifting gears again, babe. Thanks for standing by as I run wild with my passions and my dreams. There’s no one quite like you. Put simply, you are the best.
While the Pantry may be going away, it’ll always be one of the best times of my life. I love that I get to continue in this industry with The Historian and the future bistro.
See all of you at The Historian!
Michael
