Every turn of the Savannah River tells a story. Here are some of the landmarks you'll see while cruising aboard the Georgia Queen:

πŸŒ‰ Talmadge Memorial Bridge
Completed in 1991, this iconic cable-stayed bridge spans the Savannah River and serves as the gateway to one of the busiest ports in the United States. Its height allows massive container ships to pass beneath it as they make their way to and from the Port of Savannah.

πŸ”₯ Olympic Yachting Cauldron
When Atlanta hosted the 1996 Summer Olympics, Savannah hosted the sailing competitions. The Olympic flame burned here during the Games, and today the cauldron stands as a reminder of Savannah's role on the world stage.

🏰 Old Fort Jackson
Built in 1808, Old Fort Jackson is Georgia's oldest standing brick fort. It played an important role in protecting Savannah's waterfront and later became a key defensive position during the Civil War.

🚒 Port of Savannah
What started as a colonial trading port has grown into one of the largest and fastest-growing container ports in North America. Every year, millions of containers pass through these terminals, connecting Georgia to markets around the globe.

πŸ›οΈ Savannah City Hall
Completed in 1906, Savannah's City Hall is known for its striking gold-leaf dome that shines above the riverfront. The building remains the center of city government and is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Savannah's skyline.

πŸ‘‹ The Waving Girl
Florence Martus became a Savannah legend by greeting ships entering and leaving the harbor for over 40 years. It's estimated she waved to more than 50,000 vessels, earning her the nickname "The Waving Girl" and a permanent place along River Street.

From colonial history and Civil War landmarks to Olympic memories and one of the busiest ports in the nation, there's always something to discover from the water.

Which landmark is your favorite?
