Did you know that the veranda was sheared off in the 1950s? It's true! And they covered all the beautiful brick with gray stucco. Luckily, the exact original molds for the cast iron were still in storage nearly 150 years later, so this is an exact replica!

Kristin King and her 47-stringed companion will be our special guests tonight in the parlor. Kristin has been playing for the Marshall House's friends for many years now, and we can't lay enough flowers at her feet for all the sweetness she's rendered in that time. It's due to her that so many other wonderful musicians have joined the lineup, as well.

If you're staying with us tonight, clear your schedule at 5 and come sit in a little heavenly bath of sound (and hors d'oeuvres, of course).

Whenever I see this statue of a girl waving to passing ships, I recall that the raising-the-flag-on-Iwo-Jima statue was made by the same sculptor.

And that makes me wonder.

I suppose there are two ways to get a statue built of you (certainly more but I'm making a point here).

You can fight in a battle, likely come away wounded, possibly not come away at all.

Or you can do one simple thing well every day for 46 years.

She had to schmear her bagel so slowly for the photo, bless her heart.

Ours is the only boutique hotel in Savannah, shy of our historic B&B neighbors, to treat our guests to the most important meal of the day.
