Today would have been soft opening anniversary, and although it's bittersweet, I am so appreciative of the experience.
Closing TCU was one of the most difficult experiences in my life, as I grieved the loss of a dream and a vision I had for my community. At times, the disappointment was breathtaking.
I would have never considered closing a business to be as laborious as opening one. But it's been a little over two months since the closing, and I've learned to shift my perspective. I reflected on my journey and remembered the after-action reports we used to do in the Air Force at the end of every mission. It allowed me to take a step back, acknowledge where I am, and move forward.
So here's my retro action report:
1 Remember your why.
2 Stand firm on your value.
3 Stop making fear-based decisions.
4 Trust your instincts and vision.
5 Fail fast and fail forward.
I appreciate the knowledge I've gained as an entrepreneur, and I want to offer encouragement to those pursuing their own dreams to stay the course!
To show support to my fellow go-getters, I am hosting a conference offering resources and support to those navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship. As a celebration for the space we built collectively as a community, I am elated to announce my during Juneteenth weekend. Details to follow.
Let's continue to learn, grow, and support each other on our entrepreneurial journeys.💪🏾
