It's time to get your final votes in for the Satanta Area Arts Council's Spirit of the Plains Art Show! This show will close with a reception and awards on Sunday, July 26. The public is encouraged to attend this free event at 6 pm at Sacred Grounds Coffee & Nutrition, Main Street, Satanta. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided.

On the heels of this event, the arts council is also excited to announce the return of Lawrence-based artist Kim Brook. She will again be our visiting artist for Kids' College (August 3-7), and we will host an opening reception for a new collection of her work on Saturday, August 8 at 6 pm at Sacred Grounds. Kim will also be at Art in the Park on Friday, August 7.

Look for the arts council's membership mailer (coming in the mail this week to those in zip codes 67870, 67877, and 67952 and available upon request to all others by request) for more information on the Satanta Area Arts Council's continuing efforts to ensure that our region is an oasis for the arts.

The Satanta Area Arts Council is thrilled to announce our open-call community exhibition kicking off the week of Satanta Day! This year’s theme is "Spirit of the Plains," celebrating our rich Native American heritage.

Whether you've created a piece yourself or have a beautiful artwork to loan from your personal collection, we want to feature it! Customers will earn a vote with each coffee purchase during visits to Sacred Grounds Coffee & Nutrition and we’re awarding CASH PRIZES to the top 3 People's Choice winners! 🏆

Quick Details:

Theme: Spirit of the Plains

Entry Fee: $10 per piece (Artwork can be for sale or display only)

Drop-off Deadline: Friday, May 1st at 4:30 PM (at Sacred Grounds Coffee Shop)
