SARTELL — A new take-and-bake pizza restaurant is coming to Sartell next week.

Clutch Take & Bake Pizza will open May 15 at 1001 Second St. S. The space, in between Westside Liquor and The Pantry, was formerly Mastoni's Take-N-Bake Pizza, which closed in December.

"We want it to be something that's efficient and affordable for people, and you can have a quick family dinner together," Lindsay said Tuesday.

Fans of Mastoni's will have a chance to order some old favorites. Clutch will offer some recipes that were on Mastoni's menu, including their popular cauliflower crust.

"We are going to offer a handful of the favorites that they had on their menu," Lindsay said. "We're lucky enough that they gave us the OK to do that."

Lindsay will be bringing his own recipes, too. He's looking forward to offering a new beer crust and is working on specialty pizzas like a recipe with smoked Gouda sauce and smokehouse sausage from Manea's Meats.

"That one I'm excited for people to try," Lindsay said. "We like to do some funky things, so we plan on doing a pizza-of-the-month and trying a variety of different things."

The name Clutch comes from the sports term for athletes performing well under pressure and delivering "the right thing at the right time," Lindsay said.

"We have kids, and family dinner time is something that's important to us," he said. "I think this is a great way to come up with something that's relatively efficient and there's not a lot of mess and it gives you more time to spend interacting with your family. That's one of the big things for us."

Clutch will be open seven days a week, and Lindsay said hours will be similar to Mastoni's. Phone and online ordering will be available to have pizzas ready for pickup.
