One note: at the end of the night we noticed that someone left their cooler of domestic beer behind. Yup, someone visited our bistro and brewery, and brought their own cooler of beer.
Besides being against NYS Liquor Authority rules, that just strikes us as so inconsiderate on so many levels. A few top-of-mind thoughts:
1) We sell our lagers and pilsners for $7, in a 19 oz. mug (happy hour, they're $6). Very reasonable. We purposely make a wide selection of beer styles to please most palates.
2) ๐๐ถ๐ณ ๐ฆ๐น๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ด๐ฆ๐ด ๐ข๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฏ'๐ต ๐ง๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฆ ๐ฐ๐ณ ๐ค๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฑ (rent, utilities, insurance, and of course employees). All of these expenses are built into our pricing. That's why restaurant meals cost way more than if you made it at home. Drinks are where every restaurant makes the bulk of their money. That's how it works.
3) As owners, we hate having signs everywhere to tell people things they should know. For example:
- ๐๐ฐ๐ฏ'๐ต ๐ฃ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ง๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ด๐ต๐ด. They're buried 3' in the ground and hard to replace.
- ๐๐ฐ๐ฏ'๐ต ๐ฉ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฐ๐ง๐ง ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ณ๐ต ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ข๐ณ๐ฅ ๐ค๐ข๐ฃ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ต๐ด. They aren't designed for pull-ups. The bonus? After pulling the dart board cabinet off the wall, "Don't worry, we won't sue you."
- ๐๐ฐ๐ฏ'๐ต ๐ฃ๐ณ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ต๐ด๐ช๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐ง๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฅ ๐ฐ๐ณ ๐ฅ๐ณ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฌ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ข ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ด๐ต๐ข๐ถ๐ณ๐ข๐ฏ๐ต. Unless you're given permission or it's bloody obvious (like bringing a birthday cake or baby food), assume you can't bring your own food or drink. Do that.
- ๐๐ช๐ง๐ต ๐ถ๐ฑ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฐ๐ช๐ญ๐ฆ๐ต ๐ด๐ฆ๐ข๐ต. Better yet, your aim sucks. Do everyone a favor and sit from now on.
- If you're visiting via a brew bus / limo, you can't walk in with alcohol purchased elsewhere. When asked to put your beverage back in your vehicle or dump it, we're not asking you to give us lip or have you/your friends give us 1-star Google reviews.
