Updates
Roof was finally sealed and held up against all the rain. Huge relief. $1,300 in cooler repair and $1,000-$2,000 in lost food. Hopefully that is the end of that problem.
Lawsuit update
We of course said no to the offer that they made to us and they said no to our offer. Once again we are at a stale mate. We do not plan on making any more offers and plan on just letting the judge decide. No idea how long this process is going to take but I guess this is what we have to do. This is not what we wanted hanging over our heads and do not understand how this can even happen. In a lot of ways I feel like this is a form of bullying, we said no to them taking out our tables that we use for our business and we get slapped with an eviction and a lawsuit. In my eyes I have a hard time believing that officials that say they want small businesses in the state can not prevent this. In my eyes I wish that this case was more about right and wrong and not who can out last the other one. I know the other side believes they are right. Only thing I ask is if you have a lease for a certain space, how can that space be shrunk and you are supposed to be ok with that. I also do not understand how if you are sued for something and it has been proved by a third Party (bank statements) than how can someone still come after you for that still. In my personal opinion if something is proved by a credible third party (like documents) that is the responsibility of the lawyer not to pursue that case. Maybe I do not understand ethics. I do understand that i do not have a high education but to me some times common sense has to come in to play.
Now that i vented and rambled
