Big news for Sarasota and an even bigger honor for us. ABC 7 stopped by Lucky 8 to talk about a first for our city: three local restaurants earning Michelin recognition, and we are proud to be one of them. Lucky 8 received the Michelin Bib Gourmand, an award given to restaurants serving outstanding, high quality food at a great value.
For Chef Mark, this is about more than a title. Lucky 8 is his homage to the Mom and Pop shops he grew up with in New Orleans, where the food was hearty, the music was lively, and the door was always open. Bringing that Big Easy spirit to Florida’s Gulf Coast has always been the goal, and this recognition is the payoff of long hours, hard work, and a commitment to doing comfort food at a higher level.
