Grab your friends!
Go Bowling!
MAKE MEMORIES!
Celebrating 20 years has made us realize how quickly time flies by! Live in the moment and enjoy life! Thank You Saranac Lake for the AMAZING memories we have created through the years. We are so thrilled to call this town our home!
There was nothing remarkable about that Tuesday night.
At least, nobody thought there was.
Four old bowling friends met at the lanes, just as they had done so many times before.
They traded the usual insults before the first ball was even thrown.
One of them complained about the lanes. Another blamed the oil.
Someone was already telling a story everyone had heard at least twice.
And then the first ball went down the lane.
The pins scattered.
The laughter began.
For a few hours, the world outside the bowling alley didn't matter much.
There were strikes to chase.
Spares to pick up.
Bad balls to blame.
Good shots to brag about.
And the familiar sound of four friends who had spent enough years together to know exactly how to aggravate one another—and exactly when someone needed a little encouragement.
Nobody was keeping track of how many nights they'd spent together.
Nobody was thinking about how many more there would be.
Why would they?
They had bowled together for years.
There would always be another league night.
Another season.
Another Tuesday.
Another chance to settle the argument about who was really the best bowler.
Near the end of the night, one of them threw a beautiful strike.
The kind of shot he'd probably made a hundred times.
The others gave him grief about it anyway.
Then they finished the game.
They sat for a while afterward, shoes still on, talking about things that had nothing to do with bowling.
Eventually, somebody stood up.
Someone else said, *"See you next week."*
They shook hands.
They laughed.
They walked out beneath the parking-lot lights and went their separate ways.
Nobody knew it was the last time.
The last game. The last frame. The last strike.
The last time those four friends would sit together with bowling shoes on their feet and a pitcher of something between them.
Maybe one moved away.
Maybe one got sick.
Maybe one simply stopped coming.
And maybe, somewhere along the way, the years took one of them before anybody was ready.
That's how it happens sometimes.
The important moments rarely announce themselves.
They don't ring a bell.
They don't ask us to pay attention.
They just happen quietly in the middle of an ordinary night.
Years later, somebody might walk into that same bowling alley and hear the pins explode down the lane.
And for just a moment, they'll be young again.
They'll hear the laughter.
See the old faces.
Remember the arguments.
Remember the terrible shots.
Remember the one who could never pick up a ten pin.
And they'll realize something they couldn't have known that night:
They would have given anything to have just one more game with them.
One more frame.
One more laugh.
One more argument over a missed spare.
But you don't get to know when the last time is.
So if you've still got your bowling buddies...
Don't wait for a special occasion.
Put your shoes on.
Grab a ball.
Go bowl a game.
Laugh too loud.
Give each other a hard time.
Take a picture—even if nobody wants to.
Because someday, when the lanes seem a little quieter and the people standing beside you have changed...
You may realize that one ordinary night was the one you'll wish you could have back.
And you won't remember the score.
You'll remember who was sitting beside you.
