After nearly three decades of serving our community, we have decided to close our doors. Opened in July 1996 by our Dad, Eddie Lepe, the restaurant has always been a labor of love and a gathering place built on his warmth, hard work, and spirit. He was the most friendly, loving person any of us have ever met, and if you knew him you felt it. Since his sudden passing in August 2021, we have carried on his legacy with pride and gratitude. At just 21, 19 & 17 years old we never thought the restaurant would fall in our laps. We decided to take it on with no idea how to run a business, yet alone a restaurant, but a determination not to let our Dad down.
We have come to the decision to put our dreams first because we know it’s what our Dad would want us to do. It has been more than 4 years of us putting our lives to the side to carry on his legacy. If you’ve run a restaurant you understand it’s not easy. Unfortunately, at the end of the day owning a restaurant wasn’t a part of any of our dreams.
We’ve loved the people we’ve met along the way and the regulars we’ve had to say goodbye to. The decision has not been easy, but it comes with deep appreciation for everyone who supported us, shared meals with us, and became part of our extended family. Thank you for honoring our father’s dream and for giving Lepe’s Taqueria a beautiful life and a second chance. Leaving this behind is like losing a big part of our Dad all over again, so we hope you give us some grace.
Soon there will be a wonderful new restaurant in the place that was once Lepe’s and we hope you all give it a try.
Much love,
The Lepe Family ❤️
