Fun facts from the video:
White pick: Charmes de Lacoste Bordeaux Blanc, a 100% Sauvignon Blanc (unusual, since Bordeaux whites are typically blended with Sémillon), 12% ABV, low-key and terroir-driven rather than the punchy fruit of a Cali/NZ Sauvignon Blanc, no "cat p*e" grapefruit bomb here. Jill's pairing: Cobb salad, or the café's crab cakes/shrimp special.
Red pick: Alias Cabernet Sauvignon from the Folk Machine/Folktale Group in Napa, dark cherry and blueberry with a hint of chocolate on the finish, not heavy or syrupy. Great with burgers or the steak salad.
Best banter: the co-host teases Jill about the wines having a more interesting backstory than usual ("I'll try to be fascinating"), and jokes they should drink the Cabernet because "winter is just around the corner," which Jill laughs off before signing off.
