Charlie Hong Kong opened on a bustling street corner in Santa Cruz in 1998. The purpose: to create a neighborhood eatery with a menu that offers healthy, sustainable, flavorful food at a great value -- and served fast! Today, we’re a fun, one-of-a-kind place creating fusion dishes inspired by the savory flavors of Southeast Asia and California. We use locally sourced, organic produce to build our

vegan-focused menu, and fish, chicken, and other meat options are also available -- we welcome all kinds here! You’re welcome to enjoy your meal on our covered patio or take it to go. The world could always use a little more love and kindness — and we believe it starts right here, with us.

Join us at Charlie Hong Kong on September 19th from 2–7 PM for a day of coming together as a community to share love, spread kindness, and simply enjoy being together.

Bring the whole family! We’ll have live music, good food, face painting, a Stuffy Show & Tell, and lots of fun for the kids. 🧸🎶

These ladies were laughing SO hard at their table, we couldn’t help but go over and ask what all the fun was about.

Turns out they’re dance teachers at The Dance Center, just a couple doors down across Soquel! 💃 They had just come from dance class and stopped by Charlie Hong Kong together afterward.

And based on the amount of laughing happening at this table… apparently we all need to start taking dance class. 😂

Good food, good friends, a little dancing, and a LOT of laughter.

This is exactly what we love about our little Santa Cruz community. 🫶🌎

A little something new at our tables. 💛

Next time you sit down at Charlie Hong Kong, take a moment to read the two cards waiting for you.

One is a moment of gratitude — a reminder to appreciate the food in front of us, the earth it came from, and the people who helped bring it to our table.

The other started with a pretty big idea from a pretty little human. 🌎

Heal the World was created by Dotty Rudolph, 10-year-old, with one simple mission: make a commitment to spread more kindness and love into the world.

And we’re taking her up on it.

We’ll be hosting a Heal the World event at Charlie Hong Kong soon, and we can’t wait to share more with you.

This Friday, our Seabright Chicken Salad is getting a new name and becoming The Trestles Bowl in honor of them playing at the 100th Midtown Santa Cruz Block Party!

🥗 Grab a Trestles Bowl at Charlie Hong Kong, then head over to Midtown Santa Cruz Block Party to catch Trestles live from 5:00–8:30 PM.

Nothing beats good food, live music, and supporting local.
