Hi Agua Dulce! 👋

We’re Alex Arzate and Dr. Stephanie Sosa Arzate, and we’re so excited to introduce ourselves as the new owners of The Rustic Mercantile.

We moved to Agua Dulce in September of 2022, just a few weeks before welcoming our daughter into the world. From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the charm of this beautiful country community and the incredible people who make it so special.

Stephanie, who many of you may already know as Dr. Sosa, has been a veterinarian for the past 7 years. Alex has spent years working in retail management, food service, and now HVAC. We’ve known each other since childhood and have been happily married for almost 8 years.

Our home is full of animals — two horses, about 20 chickens, two dogs, three cats, a bearded dragon, and even a fish tank — so life is always lively and full of love.

We feel incredibly grateful to call Agua Dulce home and are truly excited to continue getting involved in the community and to help create a space here at The Rustic Mercantile where friends, neighbors, and families can gather.

Three years ago we started our journey to open the doors to The Rustic Mercantile with a dream of creating a little place where our community could gather, slow down, and enjoy a good cup of coffee. ☕️

What happened over the past three years was something even more special than we imagined. Because of all of you, this shop became a place filled with conversations, laughter, friendships, and so many wonderful memories.

This weekend will be the last weekend that Jim and Angela will be the owners of The Rustic Mercantile. While it’s bittersweet, we are incredibly grateful for every single person who walked through our doors and supported us along the way.

We are proud of what we built together for this community and excited to pass it on to new owners who we truly believe will continue to make it a place our town loves. We think you’re all going to be very happy to meet them.

We will be introducing the new owners on Monday. You will see us around as we help them transition into continuing our journey of what we built for the community. Please continue to support!
