Lovely evening at The Every Day Cafe where we featured NORMA RAE. I love this film. Very fitting for the times.

Sally Field, Rob Leibman and Beau Bridges. This was Sally Field's first Academy Award. It was based on a true story about the life of Crystal Lee Sutton, the union organizer whose real-life stand on her worktable at a textile factory in North Carolina in 1973 was the inspiration for the Academy Award-winning movie “Norma Rae." She died in Burlington, N.C at the age of 68.

What a beautiful film about uniting, not dividing, accepting and changing the course of history with hard work and unity.

Our entree tonight was BBQ chicken with pasta salad and a warm gluten free strawberry shortcake with Almond Vanilla Ice Cream.

Last evening's feature presentation was WHEN HARRY MET SALLY. Baked Salmon with French Fries was the entree for the evening followed by coconut rice pudding. I woke up thinking --- Can men and women truly be friends without crossing the line?

This evening's film is TOOTSIE with a star-studded cast including Dustin Hoffman, Jessica Lange, Terri Garr (she's so funny.) Dabney Coleman, Charles Durning and Bill Murray! We will be serving Trader Joes Pesto marinated chicken, tri-color cauliflower and no dessert because we didn't work out today and counting points. This film was directed by Sydney Pollack who directed about 3000 FILMS Including one of my favorites -- OUT OF AFRICA. Next week is Audrey Hepburn week so stay tuned and count your points. This Covid thing is real and the last thing you need is to gain weight. Enjoy the movie!!!
