🐾 🥁Drumroll please… Pipers and paws united to support a recent Garden Grove Police Department K-9 training and our very own AOCDS pipe band provided live bagpipe music as part of the exercise.

Police K-9 teams are trained to perform in challenging, real-world environments where they may encounter loud, unexpected noises, large crowds, and other distractions. Exposing the dogs to the powerful sound of bagpipes during training helps build confidence, maintain focus, and reinforce obedience under stressful conditions- ensuring they remain calm and effective when it matters most.

We are proud the AOCDS Pipe Band can play a small role in preparing these incredible K-9 teams for the important work they do every day to protect our communities.

Interested in learning more? Please contact Holly Fisher by phone at 714-345-5608 or email at [email protected]
for additional information about membership, rehearsals, and upcoming performances. She would be happy to answer your questions and tell you more about what it’s like to be part of the AOCDS Pipe Band.

Whether you are an experienced piper or drummer, a former band member looking to play again, or a student eager to learn and perform, the AOCDS Pipe Band is looking for new members to join our growing music family! 🎶

In Memory of Deputy Steven Edward Parsons- End of Watch: June 24, 2000

Today, we honor and remember Deputy Steven Edward Parsons, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty 26 years ago. Deputy Parsons dedicated his life to serving the people of Orange County with integrity, professionalism, and compassion. As the first motorcycle enforcement officer assigned to the City of Laguna Hills, he earned a reputation as a hardworking deputy who led by example and made a lasting impact on the community he served. On June 24, 2000, Deputy Parsons was tragically killed in a traffic collision while on motorcycle patrol. He was just 36 years old and is survived by his wife, Kathy, and their two children, Kelsey and Nathan. Those who knew Steve remember him as a “hard charger” whose commitment to public service, genuine care for others, and unwavering work ethic inspired everyone around him. Today, and every day, we remember Deputy Steven Edward Parsons- his service, his sacrifice, and the legacy he left behind. We will never forget.
