💛 A Note from Bridgit & Dan -
We’ve had a lot of people asking if The Pecking Order will ever reopen after Hurricane Ian, and it’s time to share our honest answer: we’ve decided not to reopen.

That little corner fried chicken joint was such a huge part of our lives — full of great friends (old and new), comfort food, marriage proposals (Kate Stone Pujol & Brandon Pujol), the staff we loved like family and memories that will stay with us forever. We’ll never forget the love and support our island family showed us through the years and through the storms.

The truth is, rebuilding would have meant starting over completely, and our hearts are being pulled in new directions now. You’ll still find us here on Sanibel — building, baking and sharing sunshine in new ways (like Bridgits Pies 👩‍🍳, Wildseed Construction, LLC and BridgitsWildlife.com).

Thank you for every meal shared, every hug, every “Hey Chicken Lady!” yelled from your car window. The Pecking Order may be gone, but the love behind it is still very much alive — just showing up in a few new flavors.

Hi everyone! The only current hold up right now (as far as we know) is between The City and our new landlord. The City will not issue any building permits until the landlord completes the brick paver project and closes that permit (which has been open PRE Hurricane Ian. Our landlord is out of state and the paving company is in consistent and in no hurry. Dan and I can’t wait to begin a new build-out and have this island smelling like our fresh fried chicken 🐔 again. It will be a large dine in and out restaurant with beer & wine bar (The Watering Hole) same menu PLUS salads 🥗 & sandwiches 💋 Yes, we will still offer speedy carry-out and prepped meals to go!
Please spread the word and kill any rumors that say otherwise ☺️

Construction 🚧 Update Since Hurricane Ian:

January 2024 - Plaza Roof repaired/replaced.

April 2024 - Still waiting on landord’s interior build-out for The Pecking Order.

We miss our food too and are exercising patience everyday 🙏🏻
