We're staying open a little later today because after that long paddle down the creek, those ducks are definitely going to need a :)
Stop by before the race, cool off with your favorite flavor combo, and cheer on your lucky duck.
May the best Duck win!
GUIDELINES FOR THE NIGHT OF THE DUCK DERBY
These ducklings are looking towards the starting line of tomorrow's 1st Mill Creek Rubber Ducky Derby. With every event parking is a big issue. Here is what you need to know about tomorrow's Ducky Derby.
Parking is very limited at the Boardwalk parking lot. We suggest parking at the Town Neck parking lot. We are expecting a large crowd seeing we have sold almost 500 ducks!!
If you live near the beach or boardwalk please walk or ride a bike to the derby if possible. If you live further away we suggest you car pool with fiends and family members that are attending the derby. The duck race is at 5:30PM
Before 5PM without a beach sticker you will have to pay $20 for parking. After 5PM parking is free.
There are porta potties available at both parking lots.
No dogs are allowed at the beach or boardwalk.
Cape Cod Slush and Press Ahead Coffee will be parked at Town Neck Beach parking lot. Please put your trash in the trash receptacles located at both lots.
Please obey the signs along the creek. Many of the areas are off limits because the birds are nesting in the marsh grass.
Announcement of prize winners will be at Boardwalk Walk beach parking lot after all winners have crossed the finish line. If you win and unable to attend we will contact you on Monday, July 27th. If you are at the derby and won, you can pick up your prize at the Chamber table located at the boardwalk parking lot.
The Recreation Dept. will be doing face painting at the "Baby Beach Area" at the start of the race.
Make sure you take plenty of pictures and share them on Facebook. All the ducks will be collected and brought back to the Chamber and reused for next year. We have already been asked if we are doing this again next year!
Please enjoy yourselves and watch yourselves along the beach, boardwalk and parking lots. We don't need to have anyone going home injured.
On behalf of the Sandwich Chamber we thank everyone that made the Mill Creek Rubber Ducky Derby possible.
