You might have seen the sweet news about the very first Dairy Queen now being restored on Route 66 in Joliet, IL as a tourist stop. Well, Meadowvale's history is directly tied to that iconic location!

Back in the 1960s, Sherb Noble—one of the first Dairy Queen owners—encouraged our founder, John Steinwart, to start his own company by promising him the DQ mix business if he went out on his own.

John took the chance, founded Meadowvale in 1967, and the original Dairy Queen stores owned by Sherb Noble became our very first mix customers. Talk about a sweet beginning. 🍦
