❤️ Fun fact: Alex met her husband right here at Roma! Today, they’re raising two beautiful children together. When she’s not at Roma, you’ll find her enjoying time with her husband and kids.
And Alex’s favorite menu item? 🍕 Pizza! She says she’s a simple girl and pizza is the key to her heart! ❤️

Today we’re celebrating Sal, the oldest son of Anna and Angelo, and someone who has been part of the Roma family story for his entire life. ❤️🍝
Sal didn’t just grow up around the restaurant he grew up in it. At just 14 years old, Sal started working alongside his parents, learning the business from the ground up and becoming part of the family tradition his parents worked so hard to build.
In 2005, Sal opened our Sandston location, where he ran the restaurant for 7 years. Years later, when the family made the decision to relocate the original Roma location from Highland Springs to Mechanicsville, Sal continued that journey with the family. Today, you can find him at our Mechanicsville location, where he remains an important part of Roma.
But perhaps one of the most special parts of Sal’s story is that the tradition is now continuing into the next generation.❤️ His kids have grown up around Roma just like he did, and today they are also part of the business. Every now and then, you can catch Sal and his kids all working together, carrying on the same family tradition that started with Anna and Angelo
Happy Birthday, Sal! We’re grateful for your hard work, your dedication, and everything you continue to bring to the Roma family.

🍕 THROWBACK THURSDAY TO 1988 🍕

Some pictures tell a story. Others capture the beginning of a legacy.

Back in 1988, Angelo was featured in the local newspaper, showing off his pizza-making skills and doing what he loved most making great food and building something special for his family.

Little did he know that what he was building would become a legacy that would span generations. ❤️

Today, Angelo and his wife, Anna, have been part of the Richmond community for 45+ years. What started with their hard work, passion, and dedication has now been carried forward by their three sons Sal, Philip, and Antonio who continue the family business and the traditions their parents built.

From one generation to the next, the recipes may evolve, but the family, passion, and love for Roma remain the same.

45+ years of family. 45+ years of tradition. And a legacy still being written. ❤️🍕

🏆 21 YEARS OF ROMA IN SANDSTON ❤️🇮🇹

This award means so much more to us not because of the plaque, but because of the people behind it.

This November, our Sandston location will celebrate 21 years of serving this community. Twenty-one years of family dinners, celebrations, birthdays, first dates, special occasions, takeout nights, catering events, and countless memories made around our tables.

Being recognized as Best of 2026 is something we are incredibly proud of, but we know we didn’t get here alone.

To every guest who has walked through our doors, every family who has celebrated with us, every person who has ordered takeout, every business that has trusted us to cater, and every person who has shared a kind word or left a review thank you.

And to our incredible staff, past and present, who have poured their time, talent, and heart into Roma over the years this belongs to you too.

For 21 years, you have allowed us to be more than a restaurant. You’ve allowed us to become part of your family, your celebrations, and your community.

🥃 FROM KENTUCKY TO ROMA — A BARREL WITH A STORY. 🌹

Back in April, Chef took a quick 3-day trip to Kentucky with friends, visiting some of the country’s most legendary distilleries.

During a private tour at Four Roses, Chef came across a barrel that caught his attention. He was given the opportunity to taste it… and he knew immediately this was something special.

He liked it so much, He wanted the whole barrel. 🥃

The very next day, Chef scheduled a meeting with Four Roses and, after pulling a few strings, was able to secure that exact barrel straight from their warehouse.

10 years and 2 months of aging.

This isn’t something you’ll find sitting on a shelf everywhere. A one-of-a-kind selection that has been bottled exclusively for Roma.

We gave you a little sneak peek back in April… but we couldn’t tell you the whole story just yet.

Now you know.
