Well this one stings….kinda a lot!

From day one (yes the very beginning of opening Nate’s on Marsh), Ms. Kaylee Denham held it down. Then, we didn’t know how impactful she would be, but we did notice a distinct difference in, not only her work ethic but her sense of calm confidence to her approach. She was green, knew coffee house s**t, and was quiet but direct. My friend Courtney, who also helped me open Nate’s on Marsh, called it: “that’s your manager”. I always appreciated her steadiness when it came to working scenarios or issues. For as young and “inexperienced”, or so I thought she was, she quickly and rightfully so rose fast.

Kaylee is one of those teammates that could at anytime clock in to 17 positions; she literally worked her way through them all ultimately leading the bar program at the Bungalow. To me, the most impressive attribute was her willingness to carry the team. She was so consistent in her responsibilities, could hang with Jurassic Park but never went too hard, and drew clear boundaries that all respected. After mastering her undergrad, naturally, she decided that law was where she wanted to explore next. Meandering through the countless case studies she continued to cover for her team, pick up slack wherever, and contribute meaningful insights to the very end.

Her laugh is top 3 in my forever book (it’s honestly the greatest), her smile is gentle and inviting, and her drive is impressive. I’m so sad to see this one go, but man, my pride in her and her contributions to Nate’s on Marsh will forever be remembered.

The time has come, the time is right, the next step is whatever she wants it to be and I feel my work is done (Kaylee’s last meal was the Pork Chop; IYKYK).

Sweet Kaylee, you always have a home at 450, keep doing what you’re doing, and remember: clear eyes, full heart, can’t lose!
